I still am frightened of those terrorists who cut off some people’s heads with a knife and had it broadcasted over the internet.

I don’t know what bugs me more; The fact that these people are so primitive that they cut people’s heads off with a knife, or the fact that they are modern enough to know how to broadcast it over the internet?

What is it that links modern people with such ancient violence? Islam?
They are a people stuck in time, physically here but mentally stuck in a rut. All because their religion prohibits them from exploring the truth out there. Islam means submission…in blindness.

The Catholic Church has done some pretty horrible things throughout it’s history. I see Islam as no different in that regard. For the majority, it’s a violent way of life. Hopefully, it “matures” so to speak in time. Perhaps not. Maybe it’s the way the countries in which the majority is based that has a very real influence upon the faith. Are there good Islam followers? Sure…I can see that. Are there insane, crazy, disillusioned ones? Don’t think you have to be a genius to figure that one out either.

Unfortunately for Islam, whether at it’s core or not a peaceful religion, the world view is one based upon those that we see the most. If Islam is truly not what these terrorists or others show the world, then the Islam leaders should denounce their actions, and throw them from the faith. Not sure how they would do so, as I have little knowledge of Islam other than what I hear on the news.

Remember, we are all sinners. Even some of our prophets were horrible people before God reached out and touched them. Perhaps theirs are no different? Both sides have done things that God would cringe at…I just honestly pray that those that are now killing in the name of God, would stop. Our world is dying…and they are not helping.

Islamic leaders are irrelevant. If you want to know whether or not Islam is peaceful you need to read the Qur’an.

Charlie, even if you throw islamic terrorist dogmas out at their faces (eg. prophetofdoom.net) , those mslims who stand against terrorism will tell you that those quotes have been taken out of contexts.

Of course, what these contexts really are is anybody’s guess because the quran is itself NON-contextual when instructing her followers to slaughter non-muslims. Which also explains why some muslims buy the terrorist preaching, some don’t (majority of those living comfortably).

How do we know if Islam = Terrorism? We know because we read with eyes open. If a person is blind, then even if you show them someone resurrected from death they would spit even at his face for posing as someone he is not.

many people commit violent acts in the name of islam. happens every day and will continue to happen every day from now until the end of time or until islam is no more, whichever comes first.

now, “moderate” muslims claim that the fanatics who kill in the name of islam are “misunderstanding” their religion or “misinterpreting” the koran.

but here’s the obvious question: how can we know that the fanatics are misinterpreting the koran? who within islam has the authority to say that they are doing so? moreover, isn’t it the case that many “radical” imams encourage the fanatics to commit violence? these radical imams read the same koran that the moderate muslims do, but they reach different conclusions about its meaning.

this is one of many problems i have with islam. many, many people commit the most evil acts imaginable in its name, and nobody within islam has the authority to say they are wrong. indeed, if a “moderate” imam said they were wrong, they’d just go find a “radical” imam who approves of their interpretation of the koran.

catholicism is superior. people may disagree with what the bible means, but that’s why we have a church with teaching authority. if somebody says that the bible requires us to have our young children act as suicide bombers, we have a pope and bishops acting in concert with the pope to say that the fanatic is wrong.

islam doesn’t seem to have that. as a result, the fanatics really can’t be said to be “wrong” in their interpretation of the koran. they may be in the minority (i wonder whether this is even true, frankly), but they, and their imams, are just as entitled to read and interpet the koran as are the “moderate” muslims.

islam will always produce violence. people will always kill in its name. and, as we know, the number of people who kill in its name is high, and the acts that they commit are horrific. why would anyone choose to be a part of this religion? why not choose a religion whose adherents are peaceful?

Please spare me any words which you find originating in your stomach, and check in with a doctor if you don’t feel better in the morning.
are you going to respond to the substantive point he made? did your “prophet” really commit these atrocious acts?

Captainmike, I’m not expecting her to answer cos she’ll be opening up a huge can of worms for islam. And you made a valid point above. What really is happening is while the mujahideens are performing the true jihad of slaughtering non-muslims, some of the ‘moderates’ are pretending not to get involved yet lending a hand to these extremists when the opportunity for them arises.

So who really are the extremists?

If I say…

I think Umar Farouk should be forgiven as he is seriously just insane, his terorrist act of bombing the American plane has nothing to do with islam.

I also think Osama Bin Laden is not a real muslim because real muslims wouldn’t kill innocent people, so it has nothing to do with islam.

I also think that those terrorists who kill in the name of islam has taken the koran & hadiths out of contexts. Because those teachings apply only in those situtations.

I also think the muslims slaughtering the buddhists in thailand are politically motivated, it has nothing to do with islam.

I also believe the uighurs in china have been oppressed that’s why they are trying to establish an islamic state.

I also believe the chechnya terrorists were forced by circumstances to kill children because Russian governments gave these muslims a tough life. It has nothing to do with islam.

You see, all these TERRORIST ACTS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH ISLAM. Islam remains peaceful…even if all these ‘so-called’ muslims turn terrorists and wipe out the entire world and more muslims convert to terrorism because they are oppressed.

What would you think of my mental state/well-being?

muslimsopenyoureyes.blogspot.com

PS. If you are cancer stricken you should be dead but you’re not so you don’t have cancer. If my entire family were terrorists, then you could call my family a terrorist family but unfortunately for you, ONE of us has not turned terrorist, so we’re not a terrorists family. - That’s the kind of mentality you have with the muslims, and its pathetically outrageous that some non-muslims agree with them.

Islam Remains “Peaceful” because of the lack of sensibilities in some people. But don’t worry, this will all come to an end…cos such stupidity will cost us our very lives by our cold agreements. [The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing]

I seriously think you are in denial.

Please, as a Catholic don’t compare Catholicism to Islam because there is no comparison.

No, you’re right, it isn’t. I made my point when mentioning purifying the intention of the individual as something that outsiders cannot do, and threw in some personal reasons for not accepting Islam to boot. I am quite satiated as far as my silliness quotient is concerned. I always just figure that perhaps a thread like this could BECOME worthy, as a result of some natural back-and-forth of contesting opinions. If it doesn’t within a reasonable amount of time, I’ll unsubscribe.
So have you found it unworthy because unfortunately there is no back-and-forth of contesting opinions since facts cannot be contested.

You probably already knew you had already hit the end of the road when you said I’ll leave when I see the end. Kind of queer isn’t it? “I’ll eat when the food arrives…and you’re already now eating it”

Islam remains ‘peaceful’ because this world is not made up entirely of intelligent people.

If I say…

I would agree, my Lord Jesus Christ and His Church have taught me the importance and power of forgiveness. It’s not my forgiveness he should want, though; hopefully he will repent and ask God for His forgiveness. After what he did though, the state kind of has an obligation to keep him locked up until we here on earth can be certain he’s not a threat (i.e. probably never).
I also think Osama Bin Laden is not a real muslim because real muslims wouldn’t kill innocent people, so it has nothing to do with islam.
I can’t say with certainty what makes one a “real Muslim,” but I can say with confidence that Osama Bin Laden is not practicing Islam as I understand it.
I also think that those terrorists who kill in the name of islam has taken the koran & hadiths out of contexts. Because those teachings apply only in those situtations.
I would agree. I have read 6 different English translations of the Quran, and what terrorists do definitely “oversteps the bounds” it sets forth.
I also think the muslims slaughtering the buddhists in thailand are politically motivated, it has nothing to do with islam.
I would agree.
I also believe the uighurs in china have been oppressed that’s why they are trying to establish an islamic state.
I would totally agree they have been oppressed. I don’t really know about the government they want to set up.
I also believe the chechnya terrorists were forced by circumstances to kill children because Russian governments gave these muslims a tough life. It has nothing to do with islam.
I don’t believe any circumstances can “force” you to kill children. You always have a choice, even if that choice is unpleasant. I have learned this from my Lord, His Church, and the examples of such men as Gandhi and Dr. ML King.
You see, all these TERRORIST ACTS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH ISLAM. Islam remains peaceful…even if all these ‘so-called’ muslims turn terrorists and wipe out the entire world and more muslims convert to terrorism because they are oppressed.
I would agree Islam is not a made religion of terror just because some terrorists are Muslims, any more than Christianity is because of the KKK. The religion is involved only in that it is offered by the perpetrators as a justification for their acts, and to motivate underlings who are inclined to accept their supposed justifications.
What would you think of my mental state/well-being?
You don’t sound too crazy to me. 👍

Peace,

I also agree to all of the above. What some Muslims are doing today is not islam. The Muslims have wasted a lot of time (about 100 years) in spreading the wrong idealogy of Jihad with weapons. In present times, Jihad with weapons is not valid. There is not to be any Jihad with weapons.

But some well known Muslim leaders preached the subject and misled the poor Muslims into wrong ideas. The Muslims forgot the Jihad with Quran. Instead, they took up the Jihad with sword. That was a sin. In India, Pakistan and Egypt and few other countries, the subject of Jihad with weapons was preached.

They thought they could take on the world with weapons. There was no need and no order in Islam to do such a bad thing. So they have failed every where and brought a very bad name to Islam.
When Muslims were ignorant about many good priciples of Islam, why they took up the subject of Jihad. There was enough internal cleaning (Housekeeping) to be done for them instead of picking fights with non-Muslims.

Not only the subject of Jihad, but there were many other mistakes in the minds of the muslim clergy, such as calling all non-believers as Kafirs. There is no such teaching in Quran. A non-believer can remain non-Muslim and may do some research for the truth for whole lifetime and may never believe. As long he is calm and comfortable and peaceful, he is not a Kafir.

It appears that in the present times, it is the Muslims who are the Kafir. Any one who picks a fight for the sake of religion is a kafir. The Muslims are doing it today, in present times. They are fighting the other nations for the difference of religion. Allah is very unhappy with the so-called Muslims. He does not accept their prayers.

It is another thing that they are being beaten and killed in their own countries. That is a different thing and that has happened due to their own mistakes. Enough said.

Teachings in Quran:
The following verses are taken from Surah 9, which is one of the very last chapters of the Quran to be revealed by Mohammed. Consequently, these newer verses abrogate all of the previous less aggressive verses that conflict with them. The following lists, without interruption, the most important verses that command Jihad against all unsubdued Kaffir.
Muslims are not required to keep treaties with pagans who have not upheld their part of the treaty, and Muslims are to give those pagans four months notice. However Muslims are required to keep treaties with those pagans who have upheld their part of the treaty until the end of the agreed upon time. After the treaties have expired Muslims are to make no more treaties with pagans and they are to subdue or kill those who do not accept Islam.
Freedom from obligation (is proclaimed) from Allah and His messenger toward those of the idolaters with whom ye made a treaty.
Travel freely in the land four months, and know that ye cannot escape Allah and that Allah will confound the disbelievers (in His Guidance).
And an announcement from Allah and His Messenger, to the people (assembled) on the day of the Great Pilgrimage,- that Allah and His Messenger dissolve (treaty) obligations with the Pagans. If then, ye repent, it were best for you; but if ye turn away, know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah. And proclaim a grievous penalty to those who reject Faith.
Excepting those of the idolaters with whom ye (Muslims) have a treaty, and who have since abated nothing of your right nor have supported anyone against you. (As for these), fulfil their treaty to them till their term. Lo! Allah loveth those who keep their duty (unto Him).
Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. Qur’an 9:1 - Qur’an 9:5

My prayer for Muslims this year is that they will find the truth in Jesus Christ.

Sister Amy,

And it bothers me, being a native Northwesterner, to see such people with your attitude coming into our lands with such proud and separate ideas of humanity…

Really, I wish I had never known about all the fighting and wars of the MIddle East and do not want it with the hatred for our people here.

I was commenting to a Palestinian woman who has American citizenship on a secular site…she called the Jews vulgar names, she started to ask me what kind of bikini I wore, etc., called me a name for respecting the Jews I have worked with… Very insulting…it put bad feelings me in and I had to remove myself from her.

I wish all those who think they are superior to people of the West, to Christianity, really, why do you come here to profit from our lands…there must be atleast a few things good in us…to make our place desirable for you to feed off…

Show respect for the natives who provide for you…don’t anticipate a Muslim America…

Just FYI, Sister Amy is an American. She is also a convert to Islam. If I remember correctly the rest of her family is Christian.

That is very sad. That is what the Church means by no salvation outside the Church. To leave the one true Faith for a fraud is to bring condemnation on yourself. 😦
