Why isn't the RCC more active in missionary work?

We are losing traditional Catholic countries(mostly in Latin America) to protestants and we are not having any huge success in China and rest of Asia like the protestants do. Why isn’t the pope, also a former jesuit, organizing some big mission?

Well, we can always do more missionary work. That is one of the goals of Pope Francis pontificate, and the entire point of his apostolic exhortation he recently released.

Although what you hear in the news can be deceiving. The Catholic Charismatic Movement has revitalized Latin America, Mass attendance there is higher than it has ever been before. The Church in growing phenomenally in both China and Africa.

I think your question actually points out the problem. Why doesn’t xxxxxx (who isn’t me) do something?

What we have lost in Christianity is the concept that part of the Christian life is bringing others to the faith. Here are the 4 characteristics of someone living an intentional life for Christ.

1. Openly identifies as a Christian.
2. Practices the Ordinances - Starts with Mass Attendance but continues with study of Scripture, the Early Church, attending a small group or Bible study whether formal or informal, prayers daily, and learning how to talk to others about your faith…
3. You life shows fruit of the Spirit: If someone followed you around secretly, they would say “That person is a Christian”.
4. Actively work to share the faith and bring others into the faith: This has normally not been on any modern Christians radar screen.

I think a more accurate question is “How can Catholics / Christians be trained correctly for a life in the faith”? Once we solve that, the rest will take care of itself.

I think we are coming to a point as the church overall in the west is in decline, that people are noticing we must change the mindset of the average believer to that of a first century Christian.
