Why isn't there 12 Apostles in the Catholic Church? LDS Mormonism

Like Mormons might have apostles right now.

Why don’t Catholics have 12 Apostles on earth currently?
 
I’m sure someone can answer this more eloquently than I can, but I’m sure it has to do with the fact that the bishops are the successors of the apostles.

“Through countryside and city [the apostles] preached, and they appointed their earliest converts, testing them by the Spirit, to be the bishops and deacons of future believers. Nor was this a novelty, for bishops and deacons had been written about a long time earlier. . . . Our apostles knew through our Lord Jesus Christ that there would be strife for the office of bishop. For this reason, therefore, having received perfect foreknowledge, they appointed those who have already been mentioned and afterwards added the further provision that, if they should die, other approved men should succeed to their ministry” (Letter to the Corinthians 42:4–5, 44:1–3 [A.D. 80]).

If the Mormons have 12 Apostles, they are merely using the word “apostle” as a title for 12 people who are totally separate and unrelated to the Church that Jesus Christ established.

Because She (ie the Catholic Church) has thousands more.

Let me give some detail.
  1. Jesus Christ did not establish only 12 Apostles.
  2. The word “apostle” means “sent forth”.
  3. Jesus Christ “sent forth” 84 apostles. The original 12 plus 72 more (see Luke 10).
  4. These Apostles all became leaders in the Catholic Church. Most of them Bishops. And they ordained other Bishops where to rule where ever they were needed.
  5. As the Church grew and spread through the world, she sent forth more Apostles to Teach the Word of God.

The Apostles were the foundational teachers and evangelists. Those who witnessed Jesus.

Uhhh there is. Their names are Simon Peter, John, James the Greater, James the Lesser, Matthew/Levi, Nathaniel/Bartholomew, Phillip, Jude/Judas/Thaddeus, Thomas, Andrew, Simon the Zealot, and that Judas Iscariot guy who nobody likes because of how he betrayed Jesus.
