We are talking about the Chinese, not the Americans. Please stay on topic. Do Taoists believe in god(s)? Which god(s)?

As you can see here, the gods of Taoism inhabit this universe, so they are not at all like the God of Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc. Their heaven is in this universe, not a supernatural place. Their gods did not create the universe, and their gods are subject to the laws of the universe. Their gods are more like supermen than anything else.

There is only one Tao. From the one comes the multitude. It is similar to Hinduism. There is one ultimate force. The “gods” are faces of the one. Hinduism has it’s Trimurti - the great Trinity 3 faces of the one great force Brahman.

Taoism isn’t a Abrahamic religion so it having a different cosmology shouldn’t be surprising.

There are parallels in the thought of both faiths. The author Brother Thomas Merton is a good source to see the parallels.

I never brought up a Chinese heaven. You started talking about it #104 I just quoted the Tao Te Ching that mentioned heaven. 🤷
