I personally would not fight anyone even if I did not believe in him. But there are many in the world today who are gearing up to fight ‘false’ Messengers, anti-Christs etc.

If a muslim Mahdi or ‘Son of God’ appears many Christians may think they need to ‘fight’ him and his followers. Even some Muslims may believe he is a false Messiah and think they need to ‘fight’. In some cases, this could lead to violence. Such violence has already been predicted.
All one needs to do is to reject false Christs. Extreme behavior only breeds even more extreme behavior. Without support, false Christs will come and go and no one will remember them. Victory over false Christs will not be via guns and violence. Those kinds of victories do not win them over but create even more hatred. I don’t remember history demonstrating the conquered ever loving the conqueror.

For Muslims without unified authority, it can only breeds more violence. That is truly unfortunate. Shias and Sunnis have been at it ever since. I don’t see them coming together. Who will accept a mahdi coming from the other side?

False Messengers of God are easy to identify and reject and they will be, as you say, soon forgotten.

However, I suggest that when the Imam Mahdi appears, he will be a true Messenger of God. How will Christians handle that?

We always find some excuse that they are not who they say they are. 😉

Every thread seems Divert these days, sign of the times!

Tony,

They denied Muhammad, the Bab IMahdi) and so far Baha’u’llah and they say they wait like the Jews still await Christ.

Ones mind cannot be so obsessed by false prophets that true ones are rejected but they are throwing the baby out with the bath water unfortunately.

Crazy times hey guys?

The tragedy is that openmind is saying this will happen to the Mahdi, and that will happen, this and that, this and that and not seeing that all this happened to the Bab.

I’m just going to wait till next year when he says all this will come about…

I don’t know what you mean they denied Muhammad. Muhammad has been accepted by over a billion people. That is a pretty good indication that he has been a successful Messenger of God

It is the Bab and Bahaullah who have not been accepted by that many - and billions of people are not fools to reject a ‘true’ Messenger of God.

Not that I am implying that Bahaullah is a ‘false’ religious leader in any way, he is just not prominent enough to have a world-wide impact. he is a minor ‘Messenger’ of God - just like Mirza Ghulam Ahmad or Meher Baba.

I am not saying that the same will happen to the real Mahdi at all. He will be accepted by a substantial portion of the world population.

That portion of the world that accepts him will be big enough that it will be a threat to the whole establishment - therein lies the seed of a world-wide conflict. That is what will set brother against brother, father against son

Will put this question to correct thread for discussion.

Tony,

Maybe you can explain a bit how the teachings of Baha’u’llah have and are being adopted worldwide in every sphere and seen as the most progressive and advanced for this age.

The question is how long do you think it’s fair to give a religion to be universally accepted with ZERO proselytism??

Once an emperor becomes Christian and there’s the threat of hell, it’s easy to gather converts.
Once you start invading countries thinking this is how to gather converts, number rise, all must submit to Islam.

Not hard.

How did we get to this anyway?

Let’s get back to Krishna.

Personally I think it’s a mistake to become a Hindu when one is a Christian.

It is also a mistake to deny Divinity to Krishna also. He was Divine. There are many of His teachings which apply to today’s world community.

Exactly my point. Hinduism is so uniquely Indian culturally, I don’t think it is appropriate for anyone else (other than people born in it)

Even if you deny him, neither I nor Krishna will mind.

How do you know others will accept him as a Messenger of God? Christianity has no room for additional messengers after Christ. They are a pretty skeptical lot.

What makes you think he is the real thing? On faith? Or divine revelation? Your answer has to compete with a million other candidates all claiming to be him.

As some people have been pointing out this is off-topic and not about Krishna (but actually I don’t think so since we are discussing other Sons of God besides Jesus), so let us not continue on this thread. There is another thread on ‘End Times’.

But to answer your question - if a billion people believe something it is very likely it has some validity (even if they are muslims). So I do think the Mahdi will come soon and he will be a real Messenger of God (because a billion believe in him). I am not that concerned about the fake ones - they will soon be exposed and discarded. But those who reject the real One, will not be satisfied with just ignoring him - they will fight (with his believers - some will be Christian) - hence the potential of conflict and violence.
