Mkay. Let’s all understand something. A sin is something we commit. Masturbation is grave matter, hence the “gravely disordered action” part of the CCC. When something is grave matter and a person has full knowledge of it, commits any way of his own free will he/she is commiting a mortal sin. The CCC won’t call masturbation mortal sin, because technically it’s grave matter. Grave matter, combined with full knowledge of it being grave matter, and freely choosing to commit it anyway is a mortal sin. Do you understand now?It still does not say if it is a mortal or veniel sin. And the statement is not ex cathedra dogma, so it is not infallible.
