I have been asking this for a long time, and I am starting to barely grasp it.
Maybe others have as well. And what I have been wondering lately is why does God love me ? I mean in the grand scheme of things I am really no body that special, I dont have a ton of money, I am not a powerful politician making giant decisions on peoples lives.
And I never really thought about this much until I entered my discernment, an it is such a puzzle, created in His image and likeness, He loves us so much His Son died for me on the Cross.
an i can only think why, I didn’t do anything ! I use to be really angry with God at one point in my life… wanting so many answers to so many things, now I have narrowed down my answers to really wanting to just know " why me " , point me in the right direction of where You want me to go, and what are my Spiritual gifts and help me use them properly.
I guess we all deal with these questions to some degree or another but I personally can barely sleep at night anymore, I probably have a bit of a sleeping disorder that could be checked out, but I try to sleep and eventually these questions arise before I finally drift off into sleep for a few hours.
Some people can answer this easier than others, those who are happily married, or have careers, those who are parents…
But me I have nothing really, no job, no friends , no love interest, I am doing the best i can to care for my mother… an I am left with this question at times, why in the world do you care about me at all let alone enough to die for me…
in turn it has only made me want to seek Christ even harder, in the limited ways i can, an then to enter into a discernment towards the priesthood in the process… sheesh come on…
on the other hand i guess one could say I love the Church, I do actually volunteer so that is work, an my friends are the angels and saints that hear my prayers along with Christ !
so spiritually i do have a lot, physically not so much… but then again neither do the poor an it makes me wonder how spiritually well off they are… some are, some not…
SO
do others here struggle with your own " why me " in this regards to a relationship with God / Christ, and how have you responded or experienced from it ?
