That’s a good setup. I am a Catholic, but not a Roman Catholic. And so are the Orthodox, and the Old Catholics/PNCCs (who have retained the basic doctrines such as a male priesthood, etc, and maybe a few odds and ends I can’t remember. That’s one of the basic beliefs of your average Anglo-Catholic. Heaven knows (I think), Anglicanism is not the one true church. Catholicism is. That’s all of us, in apostolic succession, with valid orders and sacraments. (Yes, of course I’m familiar with Apostolicae Curae, see quote above). What you suggest the Orthodox think (and I know what you mean) is what I think Rome thinks. Anglicans (my sort, anyway) think it’s all of us. I think Rome is far more often right than otherwise. And so we pray for Benedict, and Alexi, and Bartholomew. And last week, for Sts Thomas More and Thomas of Canterbury. Catholics all.
No mention of Rowan, lately.

Greetings, Oat Soda, old friend,GKC, why are you not catholic? is it because you don’t think it is nessisary for unity in the church or do you hope that one day the catholic church becomes “anglican” and that the anglican church is the one true church like many orthodox christians do?
the way i see it, either rome is right, or we are all wrong and it doesn’t matter.
