why Mondays have a bad reputation

it’s because there are far fewer Masses said on Monday than any other day of the week…

As Padre Pio said… something to the effect of (maybe someone out there has the exact quote??):

the world would not keep going if not for the Mass…

just a thought for the day… 🙂
 
No, it’s because that’s when we go back to work and resume suffering the curse on our labor.
 
isn’t the reason why there are fewer masses on Monday is because priests needs to rest too. and Sundays are obviously very busy for them

Mondays are good; if you love your job, it’s the day you go back with renewed enthusiasm and creativity. If you DON’T, then it’s the day that, once it’s over with, won’t show up again for another week. Who can argue with that? 😉 (no matter when your 'Monday" is…)

Or, if you are a stay-at-home Mom, it’s your ‘day of rest’ after a full weekend of dealing with the kids; relax, have a cuppa…gear up for the week.

Or, if you are unemployed and looking, it is the day you can begin again to approach the job of searching.

Monday is about beginnings, and that’s good.

Lousy TV night, though.

I agree with the sentiment, but isn’t it truly that it just kinda sucks to be going back to work after two days of not? 🙂

There was a time when the Mass did not exist.

There was a time when there were no daily celebrations of the Eucharistic Sacrifice.

According to Daniel and the Fathers of the Church, the “daily sacrifice” will be taken away halfway through the reign of Antichrist, so there will be a time when there will be no daily Masses.

And when Jesus returns in glory, the Mass will cease forever.

(None of this is to be interpreted against the principle of daily Masses.)

i didn’t know saying Mass was work…

but i did know that Mon is their day off… and i never said i begrudged them that… hope that is not what you are implying…

every night is a lousy TV night…

reality is tough but it beats TV fantasy… because with reality, i can offer my sufferings up for various causes…

of course, as bad as TV is these days… i guess you could offer up watching some of them. only problem is… you might de-purify your soul by so doing… :eek::eek:

but work would be better if there were more Masses said on Mondays…

all those Masses around the world… Yes, there are Masses said on Mon… but probably not 10% of what is said on other days…

Doesn’t anyone out there know that quote by Padre Pio about how the world could not … go around or something if not for the Mass…??

the Mass will not cease forever… it will just be perfected.or something … in my opinion… i say the Mass is forever…

it is the uniting of Heaven with Earth… and that does not go away forever unless the Earth goes away forever, which maybe it will some day… the Earth as we know it…

but this is all too deep for a human to speculate on … well, not too deep for specualtion but too deep to come to a conclusion (that God would approve of)… i don’t think the Church takes an absolute stand on what is going to happen when Jesus returns…
