Why muslims don't apply "Charter of Privileges" ?

I just read that Muhammd granted the Christians of his
time the “Charter of Privileges”

But I just don’t understand why muslims don’t apply it.

This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them.
Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them.
No compulsion is to be on them.

Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants.
No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)."

That is why I think the Medina verses is a proof that it was definitely not God’s revelation. Logically why would the angel of Gabriel told all the beautiful things and came back later and say those horrible things.

In Arabic that is called “Alnasekh & Mansukh”, means some verses in Quran cancel the others, therefore, some Medina verses canceled the ones in Meca, (i.e., The fighting verses in Medina canceled the peaceful verses in Meca).

All what i read above in this charter is applied . There will be always people who will act against Islam even though they profess they act according to it. This is not the responsibility of Islam nor muslims. In every people there are the good and the bad. Besides you must understand that in many countries there are civil wars and people do get killed . Christians are people as well!! If people here will portray every act of violence against a person who happen to be Christian as a form of persecution then i cant help that . But that doesnt mean that this is the general stance of Muslims or Islam.

it is enough to say that Egyptian Christians were persecuted under easter roman empire christians at the time when islam entered Egypt. Their pope was banished . Muslims restored his papacy . Without Muslims , Egyptian Christians form or Christianity wouldnt have survived today.

Alot of people here talk about Iraqi christians as if theya re the onoy ones that are getting killed there . iraq is in civil war and loads of people getting killed every where . gangs rule the cities and there is no rule of law . happens to be some gangs whp hate christians and they killed some of them. Bishops or priests or whatever … many muslim clerics have died too?

the more i red on this forum the cries of persectution te more i realise two things

1- Christians love bieng portrayed as bieng martyrs and persecurted.

2- It doesnt matter if the whole world is in a state of chaos , it is them who are persecuted.

Really really it doesnt elevate christianity one bit in any body’s eye in the middle east.

palestine is occupied by Israelis and Christians fled for better life = Its muslims fault and christians are persecuted

iraq is in Civil war after the american occupation and thousands are getting killed = Its muslims fault and christians are persecuted .

Please don’t make things up. The Charter of Privileges was not written in the years of Muhammad’s Hijra when he was in a position of weakness, it was written in 628AD when he was the effective ruler of most of Arabia; men with little political power don’t usually grant treaties to monasteries as far away as Mount Sinai.

The Charter is not ‘cancelled’ by anything, no one of the Muslims is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day. Though you can legitimately criticise some Muslims for not following the Islamic laws on dealing with Christians if you want to.

No, its cancelled, when it was written, Quran revelation was just in the beginning, and when Quran completed later on, it cancelled all others sources before it (as it cancelled the more important covenants such as the Torah & the Gospel).

However, my advice to you since you are only 18, is to read the Bible and let your soul judge on which book is right, take your time, and pray for God The Most High to show you the right & true religion.
