Why must you be a catholic to receive communion?

I’m very glad that the Holy Spirit led you to the Catholic Church.
But it’s not a good idea to presume it was an unworthy reception of Eucharist that led you there.

By that reasoning, you would be suggesting that it’s a good thing for Protestants to all unworthily receive if they wanted to get closer to God, because some of them might actually convert.

This goes against the passage in 1 Corinthians 29 where it is written that anyone who makes an unworthy communion “eats and drinks judgment upon himself”.
 
Not saying that is the case, but I do think it was one of many things that led me here. One of many things. If you know fully what Catholics believe and take communion whilst not agreeing with that would be very unwise
