Why no ads for the Church on TV?

I heard on NPR on my drive home from work today that the 2 men depicted in the uncc ad as being turned away, were holding hands as they approached the church. See the line there? Not just 2 men walking together but holding hands. That implicates homosexual activity. So, is the uncc saying that they approve of it? Sounds like a “yes” to me.

Erich:
Some time back, I saw about a half-dozen or so “consider the priesthood” billboards. They were black with white lettering, and prominently featured a stylized Roman collar (in the form of a white rectangle suspended from a white oval). I thought they were cleverly done… the ones I remember are:

Yes, you get to combat evil. No, you don’t get to wear a cape.
Consider the Priesthood

*If you’re looking for sign from God, this is it. *
Consider the Priesthood

White collar workers wanted.
Consider the Priesthood

*Maximize your potential. Minimize your wardrobe. *
Consider the priesthood

There might have been others, I’m not sure. I suspect that these might have been paid for (at least in part) via Catholic Communications Campaign funds.
Oooh! 👍 👍 👍 Reading those gave me goosebumps! (in a VERY good way!)

And I am not even someone who could ever be called to the priesthood.

At least… not the kind with the collar.

Thought, like all who are baptized, I too as even a lay person am taking part in the priest/prophet/king of Jesus. I’m chewing on it… what would happen if I scoped those ads to fit my own lay life by using the lines other than the line: Consider the priesthood?

Hmm…
