This site has no Apologetics? What? I thought that was what Catholic Answers was all about? I’m confused.

Hi Fauken,

No I am new and I saw that it says there are no apologetics forums. Does that mean there are no open ones? Why and how can that be? Does that mean this is not attracting people interested in the Catholic Church anymore? If so, that is the issue I seek to address with this question, and it is an urgent and very serious matter we must pray about very well.

🤨 I’m not sure what you mean by “no apologetics”. Your post is in the Apologetics forum. There are thousands of topics here regarding apologetics for the Catholic faith.

No there is that is just a glitch. Not sure why the update changed it.

Tap on the apologetics tab to open it. The tap on “all” to see the subcategories, pick one or choose none to see them all.

Hope this helps,

God Bless

If you’re using category view, you’ll see apologetics listed with four subtopics: sacred scripture, philosophy, moral theology, and social justice. Here’s the part that is totally nonintuitive. If you click the main apologetics link, it will tell you there are no topics available. Your choices are either 1) click one of the subtopics instead or 2) click none on the dropdown menu and you will see a list of topics.

I’m not sure if it is a glitch or just bad UX, but the apologetics section seems divided into four categories, but rather than aggregate them under Apologetics, you have to go to “Sacred Scripture” or “Moral Theology” to see anything. The design confused me a lot too at first.

It’s actually five categories. There are the four subcategories, but Apologetics is also it’s own category with threads that fall directly under it apart from the other four subcategories.

As others have said above, there is a rather non-intuitive way to go about viewing all those topics that fall under apologetics but not one of the subcategories under apologetics. There have been numerous threads in the Site Feedback section about it because it’s rather confusing to most people.

👏

Where’s the “slow clap” animated emoji when you need it…?!?

I had that problem, too, so I changed from the ‘dark’ theme to the ‘default’ one.

Silly workaround, but it got the job done…
Thanks! My eyes prefer the dark theme so I’m willing to put in the little extra effort on the Apologetics and Catholic Living subforums 🙂
