Why no confirmed "Hell Souls"?

I know it’s a poor term but bear with me for a moment.

The answer to the question “Is a particular dead person currently in heaven or hell?” is almost invariably “Nobody knows since it’s up to God to pass judgement”. With one major set of exceptions: Catholic Saints. It turns out that if a particular procedure is followed then a person can be declared a saint which in turn strongly implies that person is not in hell.

So why isn’t there a similiar process to determine if a person is in hell? Obviously we start with people who were really nasty during life. Then after they die we find examples of people who have demonic experiences credited in part to the dead person. Then we do lot’s of praying, fill out ton’s of paper work, hold some conferences, chant some chants or whatever and declare the person to be officially in hell.

Saints in Heaven have the ability to intercede on our behalf (so a miraculous intercession could be seen as evidence when examining a saintly cause), but souls in hell have no ability to harass us or involve themselves in any way in human affairs.

Perhaps for the same reasons we don’t embed razor blades in handrails: It would be pointless, painful, and good sense argues against it.

Why would we want to declare someone in hell? Plus, if they are in hell, how would they work “demonic” miracles?

Paul

there is spiritual benefit to giving the faithful knowledge of souls in heaven and in having a process by which the virtue and holiness of their lives is confirmed after investigation and study and by evidence, in the form of miracles from their intercession that they are part of the Church Triumphant. There is no benefit whatever to the faithful in the declaration, for which the Church claims no authority in any case, in the definite declaration that an individual is damned for all eternity.

Fair enough though it does seem a bit strange. However, there is no need for the procedure to be the same. I’m sure some other methodology could be used.

Where’s that in the Word of God? or even implied?

hi believers, I think this meets your criteria:
Luke 16
25"But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’
27"He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father’s house, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
29"Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’
30" ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
31"He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ "
On the other hand:
Revelation 5
8And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. (NIV)
