Why, no support?

Some non-Catholics do… but most do not…

Plenty of opinions and no support…

Over the years here at CAF, I have seen non-Catholic posters here, who seem to be “regulars” and yet, they are not “Forum Supporters”, why not.

Do posters here need to be Catholic to support Catholic Answers Forums? I don’t think so.

On the other hand, I see Catholics here who are critical of other Catholics and they “spend their life here” and are not Forum Supporters.

Don’t forget that CAF put together the Voter’s Guide, which I think all Christians can support…Am I right?

Where is the support?

I think there may be more supporters than you realize:)
My husband and I donate to the forums, but it's never shown up for some reason on my profile... Which doesn't bother me. It may be the same for others.
 
I have wondered about this for a little while, but since I am relatively new here I figured I would have to wait some time to be eligible to be a “forum supporter”, or maybe that it required some donation that I probably could not afford to make (if the amounts listed in the e-mail newsletters that are sent out on occasion are any indication, this place needs serious money and I just don’t have it right now). Am I wrong? I am a Catholic, and I would like to support this place somehow.

Is it just a matter of posting your intention to join, like the Catholic Book Club? (there IS a thread for that somewhere; I have seen it, though I can’t remember where it is, so maybe there’s more to it than that)
 
Well I don’t exactly blame them. This is a Catholic ministry which has a goal of defending the faith against, well, their faith. I would be hesitant to support Protestant ministries, wouldn’t you?

Not everyone who has given or is giving to CAF uses the Forum Supporter banner by their name. It’s optional, not mandatory. Please do not call into question any CAF posters charitable giving. At ease already, Jimmy
 
Some people support Catholic Answers with a check in the mail that will never appear under their username here on the forums.
 
Another reason for lack of support is quite simple: I would assume that some members here can do little outside of their giving to their regular giving to their parish. I fall into this category. I would love to contribute to the forums, but until I secure a full time job, that will be impossible.
 
For a long time, I did not identify myself as a forum supporter. Basically, I saw it as something I did that I was supposed to do. As Chris Rock says, you don’t brag about stuff you’re supposed to do.

Now, I see it as important to let others know that I do support the forums and they should, too.

I do not judge anyone on that. Some my be like I was and see no need to talk about it.

If by this you mean financial support, when I do give, they would have no way of knowing who I am so I would not be listed if it goes by user name.
