This is a great explanation. Thanks for the posting. It’s much appreciated.Sex with a condom is actually NEITHER unitive NOR procreative. There is a mental barrier that goes along with the literal physical barrier that means one is not totally giving of oneself to one’s spouse when indulging in sex with a condom - thus not in true union with them. So sex with a condom achieves neither of the purposes for which it was designed and is illicit.

NFP, on the other hand, is OK because God DESIGNED women to be infertile for portions of each month, and yet still capable of sex during those times. Most if not all other animals can ONLY have sex at the times when the female is ovulating and not at times when she isn’t. The fact that humans are designed the way they are tells us that there’s nothing wrong with doing what humans naturally do - choose not to have sex at times - and coinciding those periods of abstinence with the woman’s fertile times…
LOL! - Extreme example but very good point.By that same logic, of course, if God wants someone to have a child He can cause their pill or IUD to fail or be ineffective, and all these methods DO fail surprisingly frequently. The fact that they can and do fail doesn’t justify their use - to say so is like saying ‘I’ll just stab everyone I don’t like, after all God can heal them and let them survive’.
