Why people are lazy dose it contribute to divorce. Is the value system is disorganized in general. Entertainment: watching tv at diner, texting etc…, responsibility last, God somewhere?
You see it in couple, in workplace also. In family Kids are not taking care of, give them a game and leave me alone.

It is not just people with a poor work ethic who are prone to divorce. Hardly. The truth is, some couples have external work pressures that put a great strain on the health of both their persons and their families, such as being expected to take work home or to be constantly available to their employer or co-workers via electronic communication devices. If Mom stays at home, the work pressures on Dad can make her feel as if she is a de facto single parent, or that she’s parenting while her husband is away in a war zone far away. It is hard to have a home that is a refuge when you can find no refuge anywhere, not even at home. 😦

There is also a vicious cycle: When American divorce laws began to allow “no fault” divorces, more American women made career choices to reflect the higher danger that they would be abandoned in divorce or might want to use their earning power as a ticket to abandon their spouses: voxeu.org/article/divorce-rates-help-explain-why-americans-work-more-europeans

IOW, women who anticipate that they might get a divorce and those who have been through a divorce actually spend more time working for a wage, not less. A divorce makes it very much more expensive for a couple to support themselves and their children; people sometimes forget this!

I think there is a tie there (sloth is after all one of the seven deadly sins). Laziness is in some respects a manifestation of secular’s society’s fixation on immediate gratification. Not doing one’s share is likely a function of the inability to focus on tasks that offer instantaneous reward to the person responsibility for the tasks.

Laziness is a serious character flaw that harms marriage by way of the selfishness it signifies.

I am actually trying to get a broad picture of why people divorce. I am not sure, but I believe if no one want to do the basic task in a house, it will make everybody miserable. Laziness. As entertainment society rage, I wonder how many family have a problem with household cleaning, organization, cooking. How heavy it is on each family.Time management problems as well. Work stress as mentioned.

Have you ever heard of John Gottman? His work concerns which styles of complaining or handling conflict are most typical of couples who will divorce.

“Although many of us believe that anger is the root cause of unhappy relationships, Gottman notes that it is not conflict itself that is the problem, but how we handle it. Venting anger constructively can actually do wonders to clear the air and get a relationship back in balance. However, conflict does become a problem when it is characterized by the presence of what Gottman calls the “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse”: criticism, contempt, defensiveness, and stonewalling.”

I think that a society that equates personal criticism with “just being honest” or “calling it like it is” and gives permission to show contempt for those who “don’t deserve respect” could be contributing to many divorces, as well. Still, the more actual problems there are to complain about, the more the hurts of toxic complaining are going to add up.
