Why pick one religion over another?

I have been thinking of this and this answer also came to me. Why pick one religion over another because you want the true Religion. Do you want to be taught the way I think scripture should be taught, or do you want to be taught the way Christ wanted it to be taught.

Christ gave authority to the CC. Not to me.
