Occupation is a viable metaphor in my opinion. If sherlock was using it in that way, that is fine. But yes, a vocation is more than just a job, is it personal.Good reply sherlock but I disagree with your comment that vocation=occupation.
This is not how the Church understands what a vocation is. A vocation is a calling in lift. This is why Holy Orders is thought of as a vocation, it is not just a job.
A job does not require you to be celibate, but your vocational calling from God may. Hence a vocation requires more than just a course of study and a desire for income, it requires a personal appeal, an attraction to a way of life. This way of life encompasses more than just work hours, it encompasses private as well as public time.
A religious must be chaste at all times, not just during work hours.
