Nope. The priest is the alter Christus, not the Christus, by virtue of the Apostolic Succession.

N.b. He rarely speaks Aramaic, either.

The parts you quoted are correct, OTOH.

What purpose does it serve for an apostle to sacrifice the body and blood back to Jesus?

As you’ll notice, I said “rarely”.

Not taking any chances. It’s a big world.

Oh I know. I just wanted to get that in there. Parts of the Liturgy in the Maronite Church are said in Syriac-Aramaic. The institution narrative is one such part. The Chaldeans and Syriac Catholics have it as well.

I’d love to hear that. I got a rare amount of Latin today, at Mass. Love that, too.

Without granting the premise, what purpose does it serve for Jesus to sacrifce the body and the blood back to Jesus?

I wouldn’t know that either, I’m asking what purpose does it serve for the priest to stand in for Jesus sacrificing back to Jesus?

And I’m trying gently to point out that Christians don’t believe Jesus was sacrificed to Jesus.
