LOL

Yeah I know what a pirate is. I even know what a pirated CD is.

I don’t see how the question has anything to do with anything in this thread though. Pirated CDs and wiping one’s butt and divine revelation? I just can’t make the connection…
and yet they are connected in the Sunnah on how wonderful and comprehensive and practical and sensible Islam is.

Okay, listen. If you don’t want to wipe your butt…

that’s your own business.

(and it’s gross… ew)

I think his analogy is that Christianity is the original DVD, whereas Islam is the pirated copy (with Arabic subtitles!).
That’s a really bizarre analogy.

What then would you say is the relationship between Christianity and Judaism? Judaism is the raw film without all the touch ups and editing?

Why can’t people be satisfied with revelation from their Lord? Why would they mock it? I don’t know.

Muslims believe that God revealed to Moses, and that God revealed to Jesus, and that God revealed to Muhammad.

And you want to make fun of the revelation–the message that God Almighty sent to mankind? I sure wouldn’t wanna be in your sure on the Day of Judgment.

I don’t need detailed instructions from on high.

We deal with the mundane matters, like repentence, resisting the passions, almsgiving, etc.

You might want to look up the meaning of ‘mundane.’ And perhaps look for antonyms…

Do you feel offended if someone tells you that you need to wipe your butt?

Or doesn’t it bother you to know that some people walk around without wiping? Because I think that’s gross.

I don’t either. I regularly talk to His priest about it.

To say that the Muslims believe God revealed to Moses and Jesus is without content when you deny those revelations, which we have.

I am quite satisfied. “I am the Bread of Life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.” John 6:35: I embrace Christianity because I have NEVER found these words untrue, nor truer words ever spoken.

This interchange only started in response to your remark about me wishing for Islam. I could have been/be Muslim SOOO easily and would have made life SOOOO easy for me. But I’m trying to get in the narrow gate, and need a lot of greasing. (masih means “smeared with oil” btw).

Judaism? It’s the remake.

I think about other failings, like evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. “These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands (or do other things with parts unwashed) does not defile the man.

As to the first question, it’s never happened, so I can’t tell you.

Personally, I’m glad God gave me the dexterity and manners needed to attend to matters of personal cleanliness. I believe He gave such abilities to Muslims, too, so what the Quran should have to say about it to modern day people is beyond what I really want to imagine. I guess this is more evidence that Islam is meant for sixth century people only, when personal cleanliness standards were perhaps not what they are today.

Judaism is the VHS copy. 😃

Your guess is as good as mine. 🤷

Given that God Almighty is all-powerful and all-knowing, I’m sure He will read the heart and mind of each individual and will know for sure if s/he honestly meant disrespect or if s/he was just utilizing their God-given sense of humor. 🙂

FWIW, I firmly believe God has a sense of humor, due to many circumstances in my own life. 😃

So you’re one of these high-minded types? Maybe you could post in your signature, “Full brain-power required to reply” as a gentle reminder to those of us who goof off and don’t take internet forums so seriously. 😃

Masih means smeared with oil–nice analogy. But let’s be real. Why would God be smeared with oil? Why would God need to be smeared with oil?

Denying revelation Muslims do not do. What they do is deny the preservation of previous revelations. That kind of rolls of the tongue in a nice way, doesn’t it?

In fact people really don’t have such good manners when it comes to cleanliness as you might think. And you would think that with all such modern conveniences available, people would wipe their butts properly… and yet they don’t.

I don’t want to shake hands with someone who just went to the bathroom and touched his parts without washing his hands. I mean, that’s just gross!!

I just happen to follow a religion that includes good manners as part of the religion.

And believe it or not, people do NOT have the good sense to clean themselves properly after going to the bathroom–despite whatever cleanliness standards you think exist. I’m convinced that people need some higher guidance even for something so mundane.

So Judaism is VHS, and Christianity is the DVD?

So then Islam is like… Blue Ray. 👍

Well, this may be true of people you meet or know. Of course, you can’t always be sure that everyone always washes their hands like they should, but it’s better for your sanity to assume that they do just so that you can get through the day without driving yourself crazy thinking about it (if that’s the type of thing you’re likely to fixate on). I can only speak for myself: I know that I wash my hands nearly compulsively, before and after every meal, after coughing or sneezing, after handling food, touching anything obviously dirty (newsprint, kitchen sponge, wahtever), and of course after using the bathroom. My mother taught me to be this way. It’s basic good manners. If Muslims want the Quran to teach them to do what they should already be doing, then fine. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with it, I just personally find it strange.

And regarding your other post: I agree with you that Islam is certainly like Blu Ray…there seems to be a lot of fuss about it from some people, but I personally don’t see what the big deal is. 😛

So then Islam is like… Blue Ray
You mean the thing everyone is complaining about and resisting because over-zealous DVD companies far away are trying to force them to convert to? 🤷

**Hello and assalaamu’alaykum wa rahmatuAllahi wa barakatu sis Amy,

wow, I missed this LOL 😃 (but seems like I can only do most of my posin in the mornins since it’s hard the rest of the day 🙂

hmmm let’s see
You’re the one bowing to an empty box five times a day and traveling thousands of miles to it to kiss a rock. Even, according to your sources, Umar couldn’t explain such idolatry.
Where’s the oneness of God in that?
To answer your question, the Vatican teaches it is the authoritative speaker for God unlike your ‘ulama’ who can’t agree on practically anything. How are your ‘ulama’ and a’immah/imams not intermediataries? How is your prophet not?
Yikesabee…you obviously know little about Islam and who Muslims pray to. I do not see you trying to show good examples that your own human god performed…but wait, Jesus was said to have told someone to go pick up a sword and follow him eh? Yes, to imitate what the last messenger of God did, say or perform is showing our love for him to that degree. It is not called idolatry sheesh. He was the best of men. You could possibly go and get hanged or crucified to show your love eh or ya too proud to be above your god that died? (sarcasm works both ways)

God did not give the Vatican the authority over HIMSELF. You cannot prove He did.

Intermediaries are not in Islam. We go straight to the one that Created us. We do not pray to idols, the dead or scholars or people, or ask our priests for forgiveness to gain God’s forgiveness (he isn’t worthy of it himself if you think on humble terms~if you can). That is not what Islam teaches. There is only One God worthy of ALL worship and that is the One that created us to worship Him.

oh yeah, and if you really think about it, toilet paper doesn’t clean well enough…ya have little dingleberries hangin around ya when ya walk and you go and pray to your lord like that…is unclean and ungodly like…there is such thing as WATER. 😃

Off a forked tongue, yes.

If you knew the theology behind the title Messiah, and that of Chrismation, you wouldn’t ask. (I could answer, but maybe another thread would be in order).

Hello and assalaamu’alaykum wa rahmatuAllahi wa barakatu sis Amy,
Get ready.
wow, I missed this LOL 😃 (but seems like I can only do most of my posin in the mornins since it’s hard the rest of the day 🙂
Our God searches our hearts.

I see what your god is searching.

and what do Muslims use if there is no water (tayammum)?
DIRT!

I I do understand what Messiah means thank you and I have studied about Chrismation a little. Thank you for your concern but I do not need to have a priest to anoint me and to bring me into a belief that he can’t prove himself and puts himself on the same level as God.

**Hello,

wow what a show congratulations. I applaud you.

oh I am wondering who is “enacting” as the human god in the picture? oh yeah, they didn’t die did they  nice imitations but not the real thing is it.
TIME! Not even a second, and the question is sidestepped and the attack on Christianity resumed instead.
Btw, then what is the Ka’bah? What is the Black Stone? Why do you worship it? Tell us what 'Umar said even he didn’t know.
wow, amazin you say attack on Christianity when you are horrible to us Muslims

the Kabah was built by Abraham if you but study religion. Again, we do NOT worship the black stone. Am sure you can look it up perhaps on Wikipedia or some place if you are really interested in it…but don’t think you are…ya just like to accuse. And Allah knows best at that. You really have a hang up about 'Umar.
And told him to put it away, he who lives by the sword, dies by the sword. Three of your first four caliphs found that out the hard way.
wonder what your god Jesus did and said according to the Bible~the New Testament.

“Think NOT that I am come to send PEACE on earth; I. came NOT to send PEACE, but a SWORD.”
Matthew 10:34

*"But those my enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring here, and slay them before me. " * Luke 19:27

*“I am come to send FIRE on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
Suppose ye that I am come to give PEACE on earth? I tell you, NAY; but rather DIVISION.” * Luke 12: 49&51

“And, behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his SWORD, and
struck a servant of the high priests, and cut off his ear.”
Matthew 26:51

So please don’t talk to us about the All Loving God who you claim to be Jesus. You teach one thing and leave the other out HOW COME? Why not be honest???
St. Peter, when he was crucified, because he thought himself not worthy to die like Christ, asked to be crucified up side down. St. Paul exercised his right as a Roman citizen for the same reason, and was beheaded. St. Constantine the Emperor outlawed crucifixion for the same reason. Your comment contradicts history
.

no, rather your theologians, priests contradict themselves. If they loved their Creator so much, they should ape him or try to be like him, not the opposite. It is called LOVE…afterall, you think you are not worthy to die like Jesus did because that was just an event not worth repeating?
I’ll let those under the Vatican answer this.
you should know the answer if is afterall, it is your main belief
Sorry wahhabi, I’ve been in the Islamic world and seen Muslims do all of the above.
Am curious as to why you think to call me a wahhabi? Do you know what that is even? That term is MADE UP. FALSE. No follower of Islam was ever given this name in Islamic history Actually it is degrading one of Allah’s beautiful names…Al Wahab..
and what do Muslims use if there is no water (tayammum)?
DIRT!
amazing…you are dangerous to even non muslims…your ignorance shows…I suggest you look up on line and see for yourself what sand, the thing that you were created from, does and its benefits.

and if there is no water ANYWHERE TO BE FOUND, sand suffices.

You cannot win over what Allah has decreed.
