A late reply here, but⌠consider TRUTH.
What do you believe to be the truth? That is what you should ask yourself.
Is the truth that there are many gods or is pantheism true?
Is it true that crystals, the moon and plants have magical powers?
Or is Christianity (and in particular Catholicism) the truth?
Do you believe that following Christ is the path to salvation and eternal happiness?
No one can force you to believe in something or accept the truth. Itâs something you need to workout for yourselg.
So it really is all about fear?
No.
Some might use the hell-scare-tactic⌠but to âfear hellâ you must first believe that hell existsâŚ
A pagan could threaten me, in theory, that is I do not worship Thor he will smite me with his mighty hammer⌠but Iâd be amused at that point, rather than scared, since I do not believe Thor and his mighty hammer exist.
The warning about hell is intended to be no more than saying â
do not put your hand into the fire or you will burn itâ. Of course if I do not believe fire can harm me⌠I will hardly be scared and I might try putting my hand in it.
If you convert to Christianity you should do so because you believe itâs true, not because you are scared of some threat.
