Why should I become a Muslim, and why you should become a Christian.

Salaam/peace

because Muslims worship the Creator & don’t believe creation is equal to Creator. That’s the main condition to go to heaven according
to all major holy books.

Islam is the chosen religion of God. Rejecting Islam means you are rejecting the final command of God Almighty. ooopps so scary .
Good post 🙂 .But I want to edit this post slightly.

because Christians worship the Creator & don’t believe creation is equal to Creator. That’s the main condition to go to heaven according
to Holy bible.

Christianity is the chosen religion of God. Rejecting Christianity means you are rejecting All commands of God Almighty. .
that’s it:) Now it is the real truth, isn’t it?😉

🙂 In places having different communal sectars should become Muslim. In places having barbarians should become Christian.

"Then we inspired you (O Muhammad) to follow the religion of Abraham, monotheism; never was he an idol-worshiper." … [16:123]

(… shortened for space …)

… then it makes a whole lot of sense why God would send a Final Messenger as a Mercy for ALL of humankind.
This is nice and all, Hamba2han, but it does not address my post at all. My question is about how the linear progression of history is supposed to work if everyone is a Muslim (including God, apparently?) even before the Prophet came forth with the Qur’an (or any part of it). I realize that this is an impossible question for a Muslim, since to you every prophet of the past who taught in any monotheistic religion is by default a Muslim since Islam is the only true monotheism for you, but to everyone else on the planet who can see that A comes before B, this creates a HUGE logical problem. The problem is not specifically with the idea that God should send other prophets, but with the idea that all prophets of the past mentioned in the Qur’an were Muslims because they preached monotheism.

It should be mentioned that “monotheism” is not in and of itself a religion, but an approach to religion. To recognize that Abraham was the first monotheist and the great patriarch of the Jews is no problem for us Christians, since we know we descended from Jews anyway (heck, we worship one!), but Islam wants to make Abraham a Muslim since he believed in monotheism. I do not know how this would work. Is he a Muslim and then the people coming immediately after him have messed up by claiming to be “Jews”? This is a problem of time: If Abraham is Muslim, how come his people aren’t Muslim? How come they are calling themselves Jews and not declaring their belief in Muhammad’s prophethood, like Muslims must do? (I’ll give you a hint: Islam did not exist)

This is the same problem that comes up when Jesus is on earth, preaching what would become known as Christianity. If the people who initially followed Jesus were Jews (and they were), and Jesus Himself was also a Jew (He was), then why can you say Jesus was a Muslim? What made Him a Muslim? Only preaching a form of monotheism that apparently not even His disciples followed, even though He would have been around to correct them? If Jesus was a Muslim then He was a REEEEALLY bad one, since He kept Jewish customs (since, of course, Islam did not exist), not Islamic ones.

So how you make sense of that? In the Christian case, you cannot say that later generations messed up the message for everybody, since it was a message preached by Jesus’ apostles (and Jesus Himself, but I won’t get into that) that came to be known as “Christianity”, not “Islam”. Jesus could have easily corrected any of His apostles if they started preaching something that was wrong. If He wanted them to follow Islam, all He would have to do is tell them to, but then that would make Muhammad totally unnecessary, right? Oops…I guess THAT’S what we’re really dancing around!

Face it: Islam did not exist before Muhammad. To say that it did requires such a complete abandonment of logic, I honestly do not even understand how anyone can be Muslim if that is what you are required to believe. To believe that Islam always existed, you have to believe that Muhammad and the Qur’an are unnecessary, and that people who were alive alongside the past prophets and followed them as they lived somehow got their messages very wrong even when those prophets themselves would have been alive to correct them. So I guess not only Muhammad was unnecessary, but also Abraham, Jesus, and anyone else.

Islam: A religion based on nothing, for people who believe that there is no such thing as history. NO THANK YOU.

La illaaha ilallaah wa ismuhu YESUAA! Find me a verse written by anyone who was his disciple where he says “wa Muhammadun rasul Allah”, like a Muslim must do, and I will believe all of your claims and convert to Islam immediately.

I do not have a problem agreeing with this… but how would this definition disqualify Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) from being a Muslim?
Because Islam was based on a heretical Christian sect called the Ebionites and was started about 600 years after his death. Thus Jesus could not be a Muslim.

😛 Very good dear hamba2han:D So we have found a new branch of christianity.Catholic,Orthodox, protestants, some other Christians and Islamic or muslim Christians:bounce: :rotfl: :bounce: :rotfl: :extrahappy:
The ironic thing is that Islam was heavily influenced by a Heretical Christian sect called the Ebionites, who preached Gospels written 200 years after the original four.

This question of “later generations messed up the message for everybody, since it was a message preached by Jesus’ apostles” has been adressed in another post whereby amazingly Paul himself swore in the name of God that he is guilty of fabricating the scriptures.

Based on this ‘sworn affidavit’ of Paul and considering that what is at stake is nothing less than one’s eternal fate in the Hereafter, how then can Christians place their faith is the “truth” of such fabricated texts?

You must become Muslims because :

-Christians believe in 3 gods as per Muhammad. Nevermind that Muslims believe the Quran is eternal and uncreated, it isn’t important for salvation if they believe in it.
You believe that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are God, we believe that they are not, you try to say that they are all one God to evade the case that this is polytheism, but the case is that you really believe in 3 different persons and each of them is consiedred God, we consider this as polytheism, and you even considered Praxeas as a heretic when he considered that the Father is the Son is the Holy Spirit. And the most important, is that you have no solid evidence for the Trinity.
  • Allah does not preserve his words, he took it seriously only after Muhammad so follow only his book
Of course God can preserve His words, but the Quran tells us that God left His book to the People of the Book, so as to test them, but they disobeyed God and interpolated in the Book:
  1. Surely, WE sent down the Torah wherein was guidance and light. By it did the Prophets, who were obedient to US, judge for the Jews, as did the godly people and those learned in the Law, because they were required to preserve the Book of ALLAH, and because they were guardians over it. . (Holy Quran 5:44)
And this was very clear even in the Bible itself:

Deu 4:1 And now, O Israel, hearken unto the statutes and unto the ordinances, which I teach you, to do them; that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which Jehovah, the God of your fathers, giveth you. Deu 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish from it, that ye may keep the commandments of Jehovah your God which I command you.

This script clearly tells that interpolation in the Bible can happen, and it is not impossible because if it was impossible, there would have been no need that God warns them against it.

The case was that the Torah and Gospel were sent to certain people at certain time, while the Quran was the final book sent to the whole humanity, so it must be eternally preserved.
even if it has apocrypha, myths and legends and gnostic teachings. All these were from Allah.
What you are saying is called circular reasoning as you are trying to force us to accept your standards, what apocrypha do you mean? You even have major discrepancies in canonizing your books, and the contradictions between your church fathers and Christian denominations concerning that point are so clear, and we don’t have a solid evidence for your canons other than guesses and probabilities.
-The Quran is miraculous. Pray about it and you’ll realize it and it isn’t important why Jesus is born without a biological father or what happened to the crucifixion, after all, it’s about Muhammad, not the Messiah as per the corrupt OT and NT.
Yes, the Quran is miraculous, and if it wasn’t, it won’t have astonished the Arabs by its language, and it won’t have converted the simple bedouins to the leaders of the world in less than 20 years defeating the 2 superpowers simultaneously, this is a fact that cannot be denied by any fair person, and read what many western thinkers, leaders and scientists said about Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and the Quran:
mohammad.islamway.com/?lang=eng
islam-guide.com/frm-ch1-1-h.htm

Secondly, the Quran didn’t come as a historical book, but a book to tell us what we need in many aspects of life, so when it tells us about Jesus (Peace be upon him), it tells us what we need to believe in him, not a full historical account on his life, the same with any prophet. You ask why Jesus was born without a biological father? What’s wrong with that? Why do God give miracles to His Prophets? Or you are trying to ask who was Jesus’ father?

-You can marry up to 4 in addition to what your right hand posseses. It’s easy to divorce and marry and divorce and marry. Temporary and misyar marriages are an extra bonus. Heaven on earth, isn’t it? you must be practical after all.
Islam is a moderate religion between the needs of the body and the needs of the soul, and that’s why God gave us laws to regulate our desire as well as our soul, other than Christianity which traps the man with his wife even if he can’t stand living with her, he can’t neither marry nor divorce, and the result is that we find adultery and wife betrayals so extensive within Christian communities, and it reaches that some Christians change their religion or denomination to divorce and after divorce, they come back to their sect, of course this is not accepted in Christianity, but all these are a result to the limitations in Christianity to solve this problem, all this if we really considered that the Bible forbids polygamy, which is not the case, even after it tells about the story of David with Batheshba, yhwh blames him saying:

2Sa 12:8 and I gave thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would have added unto thee such and such things.

So the Bible tells that if David needed more (which includes women), and not to commit adultery, God would have gave him, and let him do it.

And the NT forbids polygamy only on the deacon and the bishop.
Temporary and misyar marriages are an extra bonus.
Temporary marriage, you mean Mut’a? It was condoned at certain circumstances and for necessity and once these were finished, it was forbidden.
As for misyar marriage, what do you know about it?
Heaven on earth, isn’t it? you must be practical after all.
You are trying to show marriage as only sex, which is not true, man must be fair with his wife, and he must have the responsibilty to do so, and the more he marries, the more his responsibilities increase, and the more he would be accounted by God, and if he was unfair, or not giving his wives their rights or mistreated them, he will be punished by God.

BTW, you said before:
-Christianity does not have “laws”. Islam regulates what you eat, what you drink, how you sleep, how you wash yourself, what to inherit, how to pray… all dictated.
Do you think that this is also heaven on earth, that we have laws regulating our deeds?
To answer your statement here, God didn’t create us and leave us, but He sanctioned these laws because He knows what’s right for us, so easy, isn’t it?

You believe that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are God, we believe that they are not, you try to say that they are all one God to evade the case that this is polytheism, but the case is that you really believe in 3 different persons and each of them is consiedred God, we consider this as polytheism, and you even considered Praxeas as a heretic when he considered that the Father is the Son is the Holy Spirit. And the most important, is that you have no solid evidence for the Trinity.

just because you cannot understand the Trinity, it doesn’t mean we believe in 3 gods. If we believe in 3 gods, we’d have said it but we happen to believe that God and His Word and Spirit is One. Do you believe God to be Wordless and Spiritless? at least the Sunni believe the Quran is eternal and uncreated, yet we do not call you polytheists.
Of course God can preserve His words, but the Quran tells us that God left His book to the People of the Book, so as to test them, but they disobeyed God and interpolated in the Book:

As to polygamy, yes it happened, and divorce as well but not everything that happened is the Plan of God, but the harshness of people’s hearts as Jesus says. When the OT mentions polygamy, it mentions the problems resulting from it.God’s revelations are progressive. He did not deal with people for thousands of years in the same way, it even took Muhammad 3 verses to abolish drinking which wasn’t abolished before Islam.
And the NT forbids polygamy only on the deacon and the bishop.

Do you think that this is also heaven on earth, that we have laws regulating our deeds?
To answer your statement here, God didn’t create us and leave us, but He sanctioned these laws because He knows what’s right for us, so easy, isn’t it?
no i wasn’t criticizing laws, but some Muslims’ answers regarding Islam is better than Christianity because we don’t have “laws”. We don’t need laws to tell us how to wash ourselves, in which hand to eat or wipe ourselves, how to dress or sleep, with which foot to cross a door, or what to do after farting. These are the kind of laws am replying to.

just because you cannot understand the Trinity, it doesn’t mean we believe in 3 gods. If we believe in 3 gods, we’d have said it but we happen to believe that God and His Word and Spirit is One. I am not sure that anyone understands it, as all the analogies given don’t work, may be they make someone think they work, but under analysis, they don’t,And they may describe a heretic belief sometimes as the water analogy which actually point to Sabellianism not your belief.Besides, it is not just a matter of understanding God’s nature, it’s a matter of a full belief which has no evidence and adding two other persons considering them God, the case is that you really believe in 3 persons, which is really a polytheism. Your example of God’s word doesn’t work, because this is an attribute of God not a separate person who is considered a full god, for example, I speak does this mean that my word is a separate person who interacts with me and I send him somewhere, and he is my servant,…etc.? No, but it is just an attribute of mine. When God speaks, He doesn’t need to have a separate person calling him his word, look at what Theophilus of Antioch says:

For before anything came into being He had Him as a counsellor, being His own mind and thought. But when God wished to make all that He determined on, He begot this Word, uttered,61 the first-born of all creation, not Himself being emptied of the Word [Reason], but having begotten Reason, and always conversing with His Reason.

the OT and NT says God’s words are preserved for ever. Someone who says the opposite is not from God.
So Justin Martyr and John Chrysostom are opposite from God?

Look at what Justin said:
Chap. LXXII. — Passages Have Been Removed by the Jews from Esdras and Jeremiah.
And I said, “I shall do as you please. From the statements, then, which Esdras made in reference to the law of the passover, they have taken away the following: ‘And Esdras said to the people, This passover is our Saviour and our refuge. And if you have understood, and your heart has taken it in, that we shall humble Him on a standard, and170 thereafter hope in Him, then this place shall not be forsaken for ever, says the God of hosts. But if you will not believe Him, and will not listen to His declaration, you shall be a laughing-stock to the nations.’171**And from the sayings of Jeremiah they have cut out the following: **‘I [was] like a lamb that is brought to the slaughter: they devised a device against me, saying, Come, let us lay on wood on His bread, and let us blot Him out from the land of the living; and His name shall no more be remembered.’ (Jer_11:19)

**171 It is not known where this passage comes from.

172 This is wanting in our Scriptures: it is cited by Iren., iii. 20, under the name of Isaiah, and in iv. 22 under that of Jeremiah. — Maranus.**
ccel.org/ccel/schaff/anf01.viii.iv.lxxii.html

This is simple compared to the golden mouthed surprise:

"6. We see here the cause why the angel also, putting them at ease for the future, restores them to their home. And not even this simply, but he adds to it a prophecy, “That it might be fulfilled,” saith he, “which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.”383

And what manner of prophet said this? Be not curious, nor overbusy. **For many of the prophetic writings have been lost; and this one may see from the history of the Chronicles.**384 For being negligent, and continually falling into ungodliness, some they suffered to perish, others they themselves burnt up385 and cut to pieces.
ccel.org/ccel/schaff/npnf110.iii.IX.html
Jesus did not say the OT is corrupt, nor did He say that His words will be corrupt, He said just the opposite.
If you are talking about the Torah, you may have a point, but not the OT.
God never sent a prophet because previous scriptures were corrupt, that’s Muhammad’s or muslim’s claims, not God’s.
God sent the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) for many reasons and this is one of them, and again , I needn’t follow the standards of your Bible, the evidence that it is not the pure God’s Word and that corruption occurs is overwhelming.
am talking about NT apocryphas written centuries after the apostles, and myth known during the 5th century to be exactly what they are, myth. These we are supposed to believe they are suddenly the eternal words of Allah, but no they aren’t, even if Muhammad quoted them as Allah’s words.
Well, I don’t know what myth you are talking about, actually there are mansucripts of apocryphas dating earlier than the NT as Thomas and Judas as I remember, I cannot find any solid evidence either for the manuscipts or early fathers quotes from the NT before 150 AD except for tiny fragments and traces of quotes that cannot be real evidence that it was written earlier, does this mean you believe that it was written at that time? The earliest manuscript for the Didache dates to the 10th century and it was lost and rediscovered after 8 centuries. Does this mean that it refers to the 10th century, same thing, we don’t believe in something because a myth tells so, since these myths are not our reference, what determines what we believe is the Quran.

I am very busy today, so I will continue tomorrow.

I am not sure that anyone understands it

not fully, unless you can claim that you understand Allah. Not understanding the Trinity is like not understanding how God can be omnipresent. We know He is, we don’t understand how. Likewise, we believe the Father, His Word and His Spirit is One. there was no time when the Father was Wordless or Spiritless that is why the Word is “eternally begotten”. This is the Trinity.

You difficulty is with the incarnation, not the Trinity. Your difficulty is in the Word became flesh. You believe Jesus has no biological father, yet you don’t know why. We do.

Sunni Islam professes the Quran eternal and uncreated, not Allah yet not other than Allah. If you can apply this theology to a book, what makes it polytheism when it comes to Jesus and monotheism when it comes to a book?
If you are talking about the Torah, you may have a point, but not the OT.

Sorry, I had a problem in the browser that my reply was lost, so my new reply will be in brief
not fully, unless you can claim that you understand Allah. Not understanding the Trinity is like not understanding how God can be omnipresent. We know He is, we don’t understand how. Well, if you read my reply well, you’ll find that I answered your point, but you only took my first statement and neglected the rest of my reply. I pointed out all what you said, I think this is a clear reply:
Ibn Taymiya:
Your example of God’s word doesn’t work, because this is an attribute of God not a separate person who is considered a full god, for example, I speak does this mean that my word is a separate person who interacts with me and I send him somewhere, and he is my servant,…etc.? No, the problem is not just with incarnation, it’s much before that, look at what Theophilus of Antioch said again:
Then he says, “The Word was God; all things came into existence through Him; and apart from Him not one thing came into existence.” The Word, then, being God, and being naturally597597 That is, being produced by generation, not by creation. produced from God, whenever the Father of the universe wills, He sends Him to any place; and He, coming, is both heard and seen, being sent by Him, and is found in a place.

Sunni Islam professes the Quran eternal and uncreated, not Allah yet not other than Allah. If you can apply this theology to a book, what makes it polytheism when it comes to Jesus and monotheism when it comes to a book?
This a different case, Quran is God’s word, to write God’s word on paper has nothing to do with God himself being a man.
Jesus did not tell us to reject the OT as corrupt, nor to pick only the passages that are not corrupt, nor to disregard the scriptures as corrupt and He quoted too many scriptures beside the Torah. He included Torah, Psalms and the Prophets.
Neither do we believe in the NT, so I have nothing to do with what you say. What you are doing is called a circular reasoning which is a logical fallacy.
of course you don’t follow the Biblical standards, still the Bible doesn’t say God sent prophets to correct/restore corrupted scriptures.
Still circular reasoning.
take the cave sleepers myth as an example.
What is your proof that this didn’t happen? Can you give me a historical evidence that this happened?
Mat 27:51 And behold, the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake; and the rocks were rent;
Mat 27:52 and the tombs were opened; and many bodies of the saints that had fallen asleep were raised;
Mat 27:53 and coming forth out of the tombs after his resurrection they entered into the holy city and appeared unto many.
no, they are talking of what happened after Jesus, because of Jesus.
Whether this was the case or not, it’s a clear proof that corruption occurs in the Bible. And if it happened once, it can happen again and again, so it cannot be trusted.

and the book of Mormons astonishes the Mormons, millions of them. What Arabs believed in the Quran because of its language?
The Quran challenged them to have a Sura like it, they couldn’t, and till now no one could do it, look for example at Shorosh who wrote his false furqan, and when he was asked to read a verse in the Quran, he had many mistakes.
youtube.com/watch?v=RurVnvvak3U

The miracle of the Quran is clear in the Muslims themselves, if you looked at history, you’ll find a directly proportional relation (it may even be considered exponential:) ) between Muslims’ abiding to Islam, and their leadership in the world, and once they are away from Islam, they began to be humiliated.
what does it tell you about Jesus’ appearance to be crucified? nothing that is why no Muslim agrees on what happened. As to the virgin birth, why was it necessary?what does the miracle prove? and how can you call it a miracle if it was not seen nor witnessed nor verified by anyone? what was the need for this miracle according to you?
And what does the crucifixion have to do with us? We need nothing more than knowing that he wasn’t crucified.
As to the virgin birth, this was a miracle to the Jews that he will be a proof that he will be a Prophet, how is it a miracle? Jesus (Peace be upon him spoke in his cradle and people saw him, is this something normal? You don’t believe it, I have nothing to do with that, you are asking me about what I believe.

if people are sinful, greedy, lustful and bent on betrayal, it doesn’t mean God will accomodate their sins. If someone isn’t up to marriage and faithfulness in good and bad, it isn’t God’s fault, and this is what makes marriage sacred in Christianity.
It’s Christianity’s fault, since it opens the doors leading to adultery as unveiling women and mixing between 2 genders and closes the doors preventing it as polygamy which solves social problems as the helping women who need a man to protect them and the need for children or fulfilling the desire for example, look at your priests and the notorious scandals everyday, this is due to all these reasons along with forbidding divorce, which puts Christians in a real trap, so many people cannot withstand all that and finally they fall.
As to polygamy, yes it happened, and divorce as well but not everything that happened is the Plan of God, but the harshness of people’s hearts as Jesus says. When the OT mentions polygamy, it mentions the problems resulting from it.God’s revelations are progressive.
So was Abraham of a harsh heart? Let’s look at how Tertullian says about this:
Tertullian:
Else, if it be the later Abraham whom you follow as your father—that is, the digamist (Abraham)—receive him withal in his circumcision. If you reject his circumcision, it follows that you will refuse his digamy too. Two characters of his mutually diverse in two several ways, you will not be able to blend. His digamy began with circumcision, his monogamy with uncircumcision.609609 This is an error. Comp. Gen. xvi. with Gen. xvii. You receive digamy; admit circumcision too. You retain uncircumcision; you are bound to monogamy too. Moreover, so true is it that it is of the monogamist Abraham that you are the son, just as of the uncircumcised, that if you be circumcised you immediately cease to be his son, inasmuch as you will not be “of faith,” but of the seal of a faith which had been justified in uncircumcision. You have the apostle: learn (of him), together with the Galatians.610610 See Gal. iii. iv. and comp. Rom. iv. In like manner, too, if you have involved yourself in digamy, you are not the son of that Abraham whose “faith” preceded in monogamy. For albeit it is subsequently that he is called “a father of many nations,”611611 See Gen. xvii. 5. still it is of those (nations) who, as the fruit of the “faith” which precedes digamy, had to be accounted “sons of Abraham.”612612 See Rom. iv. 11, 12, Gal. iii. 7; and comp. Matt. iii. 9; John viii. 39.
So as we see, it’s not a matter of harsh heart, it’s a matter of circumcission. Jesus was talking about divorce.
very convinient isn’t it? you call it now adultry when Allah called it moral “for some time”.
Adam’s sons married his daughters, you call it now incest when Yahweh called it moral “for some time”.
the marriage contracts during travels.
I know, I am asking about what you know about it in detail.
no i wasn’t criticizing laws, but some Muslims’ answers regarding Islam is better than Christianity because we don’t have “laws”. We don’t need laws to tell us how to wash ourselves, in which hand to eat or wipe ourselves, how to dress or sleep, with which foot to cross a door, or what to do after farting. These are the kind of laws am replying to.
You are talking about the very detailed laws, and most of what you gave are not mandatory or to tell us how to pray as washing for example, of course I don’t deny them or their importance, but you are trying to give an impression that this is all what the laws are about, which is a clear fallacy, as the laws are much more general than that, it’s in the whole life. Why did God give the law in the OT?
