Why should I continue to pray when this happens

In Luke, chapter 12, Jesus tells us to remember the sparrows, two of them are sold for a coin yet God knows when one falls to the ground. Then He asks “are you not worth more than many sparrows?” He goes on to tell us that God knows the number of hairs on our head. He notices you and cares for you so much, even more than you love your baby.

My God if that’s true I could die of joy. To thinkJesus sees me and loves me at every moment of the day? Is that what you’re saying?
Yes, yes! This is the pearl of great price - a love so great that throughout long years of church history, men & women gave their whole lives to God so gladly, even renouncing every other good and dying a martyr’s death rather than deny it.

Regarding his constant presence and attention, I think that is why Jesus said in one place that “it is better for you if I go away.” As a human man he could only be in one place at one time, only pay attention to one person at a time. But through the Holy Spirit He is fully present to each one of us all the time.

In hundreds of scripture verses he has told me over & over that he is with me (and he positively shouts that at us through the Eucharist). Like psalm 139 says:

“Where can I go from your spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:7-8‬. The whole psalm shouts at us about the constancy of his presence. And that’s just one scripture of so many!

Not to oversimplify things but I wonder if the one question Jesus is asking us over and over again is, “Will you let me love you?”
