Why should I embrace the Catholic Church

Also where is the word Pope in the Bible or the concept of a Pope all the apostles were equals, Jesus appointed each of the apostles as equals he did not promote Apostle Peter and say hey Peter your the new Pappas (the original Greek word for Pope).
Actually, Jesus did “say” that. Take note of what He was teaching when declaring Simon the rock…
Matt 16: 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock[c] I will build my church, and the powers of death[d] shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
OT passage this aluded to…
Isaiah 22:21 and I will clothe him with your robe, and will bind your girdle on him, and will commit your authority to his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. 22 And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David; he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

The literal teaching of scripture is that Peter was appointed the leader of Jesus’ kingdom and would be a father to its inhabitants. It is hard to “see” when looking through the paradigm of protestantism, of Sola Scriptura; that lense that warps and twists the scriptures, that denies the king and allows each man to do what is right in his own eyes.

Lord Jesus, please heal the wound in your church.

Not a Protestant nor do I believe in Sola Scriptura.
My apologies. Since you used the common protestant line, “where is… in the bible” I mistakenly assumed that you were one. The answer is the same. Now you know where the word Pope is in the bible and that Jesus was referencing it when He named Peter and promised his authority to him.

The prayer is slightly different; Lord Jesus, please heal the old wound in your church.

I’m confused by this question. Are you saying the Eastern Catholics don’t have the same beliefs as the Western Catholics? Or are you referring to the Eastern Orthodox?

And what beliefs are you talking about?

For example a Byzantine Catholic will accept the Primacy of Rome while accepting Eastern Orthodox beliefs. One example would be that the Roman Catholic Church hold by the doctrine of original sin while a Byzantine Catholic would hold to the doctrine of ancestral sin. How can there be true communion with major differences in doctrine.

I have to admit that I don’t know much about Eastern Catholicism. There are Eastern Catholics on this forum. Maybe start a thread on it in the Eastern Catholicism subforum.

So, because of the human imperfections of Catholicism, the OP should avoid it? In that case, the OP should avoid all of Christianity. Catholicism does not have a monopoly on pastors abusing children (which is monstrous regardless of the religion), nor its members covering up crimes.

You know I’ve really been hearing lots of various things going on about the Catholic Church
Yea, the Washington Post, Boston Globe, New York Times and L.A. Free Press are great sources. Good luck with that.

Also I’ve heard Pope Francis saying all types of things such as anyone can go to heaven or that hell doesn’t exist.
You haven’t heard that because Pope Francis hasn’t said that

I remember Pope Francis as saying the words, 'who am I to judge" when questioned on the Church’s view of Homosexuality. The Vatican didn’t deny that these words came from the mouth of Pope Francis.

Yeah. Francis is not my favorite Pope. But he is still Pope.

Actually, he spoke at length, but the media shortened his words.
