Though nominally a Jew, he was a radical infidel, a scoffer at religion, and, after the conversion of his brother Theodor, a rabid enemy of everything Catholic. On his intended tour to the Orient, he came to Rome, where on 20 January, 1842, he was miraculously converted to Catholicism in the Church of S. Andrea delle Fratte by an apparition of the Blessed Virgin.
Thankyou for sharing that! To read of a personal account is very special. My own grandmother (who is devoted to Mary though) has said she’s seen Her, but she’s not sure if it was just a dream. Mary didn’t speak to her, my grandmother said she just saw Her. I hope she truly did. At first, she said, she was afraid and started to throw Holy Water on Her…until she realized who she was!not true my mothers mom was a secular jew and she swore mary appeared to her in dreams my mothers fathers mother claimed to have seen her as well after falling from a tree as a child and she was a fortune teller someone not spiritual at all i think mary can appear to all of us when god decides we need her i know my jewish grandma had devotion to mary after that ive heard of mary appearing to people from all faiths and backgorunds from saintly to wicked our lady is truly a mother to all in that sense
I don’t know if it is true or not but I remember reading something about Marian apparitions one time. There are a lot more of them than I knew. And I remember that a majority of the apparitions were not to good or bad people…but to children versus adults. A majority of them are to children.I was just at La Salette in France, where Mary appeared to 2 children, The 2 children weren’t particularly good or holy. Mary asked one of the children if she said her prayers, and she said she didn’t.
