Why should we be interested in the wisdom of other religions?

I never said as such.

What I said was, do you not care about the prefigurements of the Mass in Judaism or the Quranic verses on the BVM? After all, Vatican II said

The Catholic Church rejects nothing that is true and holy in these religions. She regards with sincere reverence those ways of conduct and of life, those precepts and teachings which, though differing in many aspects from the ones she holds and sets forth, nonetheless often reflect a ray of that Truth which enlightens all men. Indeed, she proclaims, and ever must proclaim Christ “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6), in whom men may find the fullness of religious life, in whom God has reconciled all things to Himself.”

Where does it say that? All NA says is that “The Catholic Church rejects nothing that is true and holy in these religions”

I cannot speak to Islam but Buddhism says a great deal about dying to self if one looked into it. And Hinduism is less about gods and more about a comprehensive lifestyle of commitment to God. Look up Yama and Niyam.

Better to study other religions from christian perspective, there are some books like an apologists dictionaries. Those books are valuable for study other religions, because in a laconic way you can grasp a lot

Its really Vatican II (as in two with Roman numerals) rather than Vatican 11 (as in eleven using modern digits).

Use a capital “i” not a decimal “1”.

As this thread demonstrates that Vatican II hasnt yet permeated down to a good number of Catholics just yet maybe not 😀.

We are now a global society and as we interact with men and women around the world, don’t you think it’s important to know how their culture, their language, and their beliefs impact our own culture, language, and beliefs?

Maybe a Vatican II - b
Indeed, Vatican 2B or not 2B.
Or is it nobler in the grind to suffer the slings and barrows of religious bigotry or by taking alms against a Vatican III of troubles end them?
