The Muslim faith is based on the testimony of their prophet Mohammad. On who’s authority did Mohammad make his claims? Muslim would say God’s authority. But how do we really know it was God?

No disrespect intended, but if a self proclaimed prophet says they have a message from God, why should anyone believe them without external verifiable evidence?

To borrow an argument from Archbishop Sheen, Jesus is the ONLY founder of any religion that was pre-announced. Prophets are recorded in the Old Testament that foretold of a coming savior. These prophets did NOT proclaim a new faith tradition, present their own writings, list their own doctrines, etc.

Jesus is the only founder of any religion who claimed to be God. With anyone who makes that claim, there are two possible responses. They are correct or they are wrong.

If Jesus was wrong, then He would be called crazy in today’s societies. He was claiming to be God and performing some of the best magic the world had known.

If Jesus was right, then He was and is God. As such, He is entitled and worthy of our worship, praise, and discipleship.

Those closest to Jesus - those who walked with Him, listened to Him, witnessed His works - they are the ones who’s faith we should study. If Jesus was not God, then all of his works, teachings, even His resurrection was a ruse. To be a ruse would necessarily require cooperation from His followers, especially to remove His tortured and crucified body from the tomb.

Yet almost all of these same followers DIED for their beliefs. The gave up their lives for Jesus. They willingly held fast to their belief that Jesus was God at the point of the sword, the claw of the beast, the torture of the flames. The important part of this is that they WILLINGLY gave up their lives. They did not do so in an attempt to kill unbelievers. They did so in order to make more believers!

Furthermore, if Jesus was and is indeed God, with what authority was He here on earth? With all authority in heaven and earth. How did Jesus send His apostles? With the same authority (Jn 20:12). What did those apostles do? They founded His church. That same church exists today in the Catholic church. Just to follow this to it’s logical conclusion, the Catholic church received it’s authority from the apostles who received their authority from Jesus who received His authority from the Father.

Based on this, to follow God one would necessarily have to follow Jesus, who was and is God.
Yes I see your reasoning is quite good. I’m not sure if its impeccable; but its good.

For a simple reason.

Judaism existed before Christianity. That’s for sure.

and then…according to Judaism…

And then Moses received sets of Laws and 10 commandments.
Judaism continued. Prophet Isaiah received prophecy about Messiah will be born.
Old Testaments were around and ‘were true’

Whether it’s a same Old Testament we use today, maybe some people can have doubt. Records were not as efficient as today’s world

Then came Christianity, proclaiming Christ is the Messiah prophesied by Prophet Isaiah.
Many Jewish disagreed, and so Judaism continued to exist.
Christianity did not claim Judaism was wrong, and ‘make correction’ to Judaism. It simply proclaims, prophecy about the coming of Messiah had been fulfilled.
New Testaments were started to be written. Completed around early 2nd century A.D.
Christianity proclaimed Public Revelation is completed, and no more prophets will be born after this

Christianity flourished decade by decade, century by century.
4th century A.D, books were compiled into a single book called Bible. Records started to get more organized.
Truly enough, no new Israel or Jewish prophets were born after Christ came, up until today.

7th century A.D. a man named Muhammad proclaimed to receive Revelation from God.
Among the Revelation is, he is the last prophet. Jesus was a prophet. All the Jewish prophets, including Jesus received correct revelation from God, but the revelation, practice, and scriptures were corrupted by Jewish over time. Hence the Old Testament and New Testament we have today.
Mohammad received Quran, a correct version of scripture.

Mohammad’s claim doesn’t make sense to me, because the Church has been keeping all the letters, documents etc. Even Old Testament has been around. And 600 years later a man claimed that God revealed all was corrupted. But writings of the Fathers, such as Ignatius were dated back in around c. 110 A.D, and they contain the same belief as the Christianity in 7th century and today, the 21st century. So to me, Mohammad’s claim can be easily dismissed by document records.

Why shouldn’t I be a Muslim?
Let me give you an answer that will trump all answers ever given on that question.

Because Islam contradicts history. Or to put it another way, Islam is historical-revisionist religion.

What does it mean? Well, what if I said to you that it wasn’t Hiroshima and Nagasaki that were bombed, but it was Osaka and Kobe?

Islam is just like that. To justify its revelation Islam said that it was Kobe and Osaka that were bombed… well not exactly, what Islam claim is that the jews scripture is not the real thing, the Bible is not the real thing, the apostles or early Christian did not believe that Jesus was God etc. These things contradict history just the way saying that it was Osaka and Kobe that was bombed contradicts history.

Such historical revisionist view is necessary to justify the falsehood which Islam is built upon.

It also explains why muslims are prone to conspiracy theory.
