Why so few male saints?

I heard Father Corapi said female saints outnumber the male saints by 5-to-1 or something like that. What’s going on? Are the men that weak or is it a tactical attack by the devil?

There are more canonized male saints than canonized female saints. I don’t think we can know for sure what the ratio is in heaven. Fr. Corapi was probably making a guess based on his observation of how he has seen men and women practice their faith. I guess we will find out when we get there!

there are so many saints/blesseds/servants of god/venerables…that it would be hard to add up how many women and men there are…

technically each person that reaches heaven is a saint…(its just that we…on earth…don’t know who is there and who isn’t so the church goes throught the long beatification/canonisation process…

but anyone who is in heaven is a saint…if we could add up all the numbers of saints/blesseds/venerables/servants of god in the church…i think it would be nothing compared to the amount of “unknown” saints in heaven

women are more likely to ask for directions, esp. spiritual direction?

😃

One thing I have also heard is that more women have received the stigmata then men.

Reading “Saintly Solutions” about marrige troubles, there are several men and women examples, the women all stayed with their husbands (even abusive ones), the men all left their wives and retired to a monastary! LOL

As a man, I think our ego is bigger than that of women. True humility will lead one to the road of sainthood.

Oh, I don’t think you can truly say that. We males can be pretty humble too, and I don’t think it’s a matter of gender.

Face it, we women are just holier! 😉 And much humbler, too.

In all honesty, I don’t know why that would be. I’ve never heard this before.

Hey don’t get me wrong, I pray for a holy woman to come my way! Where is the ratio around here! 😃

But, seriously I don’t know…some on this thread have said that is not the ratio, and Father Corapi said he had not run the numbers but it seemed that way to him. But I have heard him more than once say that if you go to adoration or some evening talk, the women always outnumber the men.

It could just be a different means of spirituality too, because as Father Corapi also says, men and women are different, even down to our spirituality.

i think Fr. Corapi also mentioned how when we go to heaven, it’ll be full of the little old gray haired ladies from daily Mass with Rosaries in their hands! 😃

fact: Church activities and daily Masses are filled with mostly women. as to the psychology, biology, and spirituality behind this, i guess one place we can look is Theology of the Body.

Did Fr Corapi say there were more women saints, or more churches named after women saints?

I seem to recall him saying that about church names.
