Do you have any idea what year it is? Are you seriously proposing that walking into the jaws of a lion is some sort of great feat of ultimate faith? And do you actually think that the world is the same as it was 3400 years ago, when the book was written? Times change, and rules change. If nothing ever changed, then what need do we have for our governmnet’s legislature? There are more people in this country than just Christians and I really do not think that you realize that. You want our government to force Christianity down the throats of everyone in the country because you think that its the right way. Now, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be entitled to your opinion, because you absolutely are. But not everyone agrees with you. The world really is not going to end if gays are allowed to get married. Someone had made a comment earlier about the Netherlands and how gay marriage is legal there. Has the Netherlands imploded? No. They live thier lives just fine. It just seems extremely arrogant of you to think that your point of view is the only one.

Thank you for you ill-mannered post.
I asked you a question. I assume you were too busy to give me an answer - Do you believe that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead to save you from your sins and to give you new life?
It’s the basic statement of the Gospel. If you believe in it and trust in it, the rest of the Scripture and the Tradition of the Church that everybody is talking about here begins to make since.
If you don’t, it will never make since, because it will always seem like it’s too demanding.
Soulspeak, this isn’t a SECULAR forum. It’s a CATHOLIC one. As such, Sources of Catholic Inspiration need to be accepted as such and not just tossed out because you don’t like them or because you find them too old or too hard to follow.
Among it’s sources of teaching, the Catholic Church accepts the Bible as the written Word of God and,
All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness…
2 Tim 3:16. NAB
The Church also Tradition which includes the Canons of the various Ecumenical Councils, the Papal Bulls which have been written ex-Cathedra, and that which has been taught to all Catholics in all places at all times (St. Augustine’s definition).
Walking into a lion’s mouth may not sound like much of an act of faith, until you consider that the people doing this weren’t Christians, but were audience members so moved by the Chrisitans’ faith that they went down to the arena floor, jumping over a protective barrier, TO DIE with the Christians.
This was observed, not only by Christian apologists, but by Roman writers of the 2nd and 3rd Centuries.
We recently celebrated the Feast Day of the First Martyrs of Rome - They were the original Roman Candles. You might want to read what they willingly endured for their faith. I’m sure some of my forummates can help you with reading material.
I know what year it is, but I also know what a Revealed Religion and the Nature of God are and at what an incredible cost I was bought. You might want to read just one of the passion stories from the Gospel and realize that Jesus endured that incredicble suffering to save both of us from eternal damnation.
I know there are plenty of opinions, and I know that I don’t always get everything right, but I do know what I’m saying is based on. Do you know what you’re saying is based on and why?
BTW, Marraige as an institution predate the Torah and Judaism by at least 8,000 years. With the exception of changing from polygamy to monogamy, almost all societies on this earth have maintained the same form - Man and woman - for the last 11,000+ years. So those defending Traditional Marraige are hardly shoving anything down your throat.
BTW, the Grundegen Hospital Protocols are the latest working out of a long line of Pro-Euthansia legislations etc. in Holland. Are you really OK with the idea that a teenager can say, “I want to die,” and the next day, he’s dead??
I have friends who’ve been to Amsderdam who would beg to differ with you.
Blessed are they who act to save the innocent. Michael
