Why so many questions?

I was just browsing today and I noticed there are 87 pages of topics on the Eastern Rite.
Is this a record for this site? What is the big deal?
Most of the questions I see posted …and after 87 pages of topics and innumerable pages of specific questions with each topic…
The scary thing I’ve been reading is: MOST OF THE QUESTIONS ARE FROM ROMAN CATHOLICS. Have they not ever been taught that the Catholic church is Universal? What does that mean? Have they never been taught one-holy-catholic-apostolic? Do they really think that it is their way or no way? That Jesus is praised only by Kyrie? And Slava Bohu is “latin”?
What were they taught in their catholic grade school or high school?
What are RCIA adults being taught?
Oh, they are missing a great part of the Catholic Belief.
After reading all of these, I feel SO SORRY, it is PITIFUL that a major part of our faith is completely disregarded (just plainly not taught, not experienced, sometimes not accepted).

I wouldn’t jump to conclusions here. It isn’t logical that faith formation in your particular rite should include an exhaustive review of other rites. I do agree that understanding the Eastern rites is good and that we should strive to do it, but the fact that this is not taught as a matter of course shouldn’t be a shock.

I love the Divine Liturgy. If we hadn’t moved so far from a Byzantine church, I probably would have changed rites 🙂

And I had a lot of questions about the Eastern Churches. If I had known about this site, I would have several pages worth of questions.

I’m not surprised that so many Roman Catholics have questions about Eastern Catholics. We are relatively few, with no representation in many areas of the world. I guess it’s up to us to stir their curiosity, and then educate them.
 
I didn’t even know an eastern church existed before the past couple of years. Theres only one eastern rite church in the whole of Ireland, so.
