God said, let there be light!

We have no record of Him telling light to stop.

😃

We catholics can believe in life on other planets…no problem. Who knows if they go to heaven? Who knows if they needed redeeming? Only God.
Adam & Eve are representitive of the first humans created with free will & immortal souls called to God & Heaven. Could have taken billions/millions of years of ā€œevolvingā€ for that to happen. Of course we have evolved! Just not from monkeys…The ā€˜missing link’ is actually hundreds of thousands of years worth of evolution ā€˜missing’.

Ok, lets say that drakes equation is wrong.

Why such a large universe then? Why at least 28 billion light years across? All for humans? That doesn’t make any sense.
If there is a God, and if this God is powerful enough to create a universe 28 billion light years across, and this all-powerful being sends His only Son, who is Fully God, to become fully man as one of us, in order to die and redeem us, well that doesn’t make sense either.

Unless His love is in-expressively and unimaginably generous.šŸ‘

Which is the bigger miracle: sending His own Son to die, or creating the Universe?

I would say that sending His own Son is the bigger miracle.

Yes it does,

Father Georges LemaĆ®tre said ā€œWhen God created the universe from a thought, it must have been spectacular, the vastness of space acts like a testimony of God’s love. It seems ever-growing, infinite. God, by His love he created matter and holds it together.ā€

I don’t think there is anything in Catholic doctrine that precludes one from believing in extraterrestrial life, so we can ignore the ā€˜All for humans?’ part. As for why it’s so big? Only God knows.

As for whether it makes sense or not, by what standard? If we were capable of completely knowing and understanding [an infinite] God in this [finite] life, then we might not need saving.
