Why do you insist in breaking God’s Law (not Jewish law) and keep Sunday as God’s holy day. Did God write the 10 commandments with his own finger? Isn’t one of those commandments (4th) to keep Sabbath Holy for the Lord? Why do we keep all other commandments yet not the Sabbath? If the Sabbath was for the Jewish nation and them alone, why did God not write it in the book of Moises, along with all other Jewish laws? Why do you insist in worshiping man made laws? Why?

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” Exodus 20:8-11. “And the Lord delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God.” Deuteronomy 9:10.

Never mind. I see you already asked this question in the AAA forum. Devon provided you with quite a lot of background and sources to answer your question. Perhaps you can narrow it down and tell us which part(s) of that answer you didn’t understand and we can try to help.

  1. The Sabbath Commandmant was NOT about worship, but merely cessation from labor. It was a forced work stoppage that extended even to one’s slaves and farm animals.
  2. Furthermore, Saturday was NOT the only day called “sabbath”. So were all the holydays of Old Israel.
  3. We don’t pick and choose which of God’s Sabbaths we observe. It’s either ALL of them or NONE of them. But beware! The Bible also says that if we accept circumcision–meaning the corpus of Jewish religious practices–Christ will do us NO GOOD!
  4. Moreover, services were held in the Tabernacle and Temple, and later in the Synagogues, not only on the Sabbath, but TWICE DAILY.
  5. There’s nothing about the Sabbath being enjoined upon Gentile Christians in Acts 15. The early Christians saw nothing wrong with gathering in the wee hours of Sunday, the day of the Resurrection, the Kyriake Imera of Revelation, for the Eucharist, and then going about their usual employments the rest of the day.
  6. Finally, since Christ came, which day do we get to keep in an unholy and profane manner?

Why do you

  • wear clothes of different fabrics ?
  • let money be lent out at interest ?
  • fail to keep the year of Jubilee ?
  • eat shellfish ?
  • fail to destroy your house once it has caught leprosy ?
  • not go on Holy War ?
  • fail to go up once a year to pay your vows at the sanctuary of the Lord ?
  • fail to stone false prophets ?
  • fail to stone idolaters ?
  • not burn alive the fornicating daughter of a priest ?
  • not cut off your wife from the assembly of the Lord for wearing trousers, and your menfolk for wearing kilts ?
If the USA kept the Torah of Moses, as you want it to, it would be a theocracy like Afghanistan under the Taliban. If you want to pauperise it by keeping the whole Torah - be my guest; then we God-hating Europeans can get ahead of you again 🙂

It’s all in there. And it is as obligatory and as long-lasting as the rest of the Torah of Moses.
