Why the bible is most assuredly not a Catholic book,

You are just spouting opinion. In truth, only the Catholic Church teaches every truth to be found in the Scriptures .
 
The Bible is the core of written teachings, reflections, songs, and much more compiled over many years. The Old Testament is our Jewish heritage and the New Testament is a set of books written by variety of folks.

The original Christian group of people, prior to Paul’s conversion were mostly Jewish and we owe much of our history to that tradition. Paul and others brought in the Gentile movement which also became the mainstay of Christianity when the Jewish purge by the Romans and the destruction of the Temple saw the Jewish Christian community just about wiped out with all the other Jews.

Had that not happened, it is quite possible that the Jewish Christian group would have grown significantly.

Nevertheless, the Bible was complied by the Catholic scholars of the day, way before the Reformation happened. It is the core of Catholic written Word, and with our rich physical Tradition, is manifest as the entire universal church at the time of its writting

What is the New Covenant?

The term “The Church” singular, appears some 37 times in the NT. IF you really wish to know the truth look them up and you’ll discover alot of evidence to prove you’re wrong. But I 'm not sure that is in your ajenda:shrug:

I understand that Christianity is a distinct religion now. I’m not trying to say that Christians should convert to Judaism because the first Christians and Jesus himself were Jewish.

The Jesus of history and the Jesus in the gospels and the creeds are not really the same but they are both important. You do not have to choose one or the other, you should try and learn about both.

Jesus had a unique view of God and Judaism. He also taught a subversive wisdom which opposed the system of exploitation that exists in this world.

But still, the historical Jesus would have been thoroughly Jewish. Do you think that there was something so wrong with Judaism that it needed replacing?
 
Are there any Catholics who can tell me what the New Covenant is???

I have answered the question. If you don’t want to accept the facts then so be it.
 
Being Protestant, he probably doesn’t understand the full implications of what a covenant is. Everyone knows that covenant theology among protestants is weak at best.

I already told you the correct answer. If my answer does not line up with your falwed understanding of the Scriptures, it isn’t my fault.

Actually, the Bible is most assuredly a Catholic book. If it is not, how do you explain the following passages from the Bible?

**The institution of the papacy
**
(Matthew 16:18 RSV) And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it.
(Matthew 16:19 RSV) I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

The Church as the pillar and ground of truth

(1 Timothy 3:15 RSV) if I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and bulwark of the truth.

Sacred Tradition

(2 Thessalonians 2:15 RSV) So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.

The salvific nature of baptism

(1 Peter 3:21 RSV) Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Confession

(John 20:23 RSV) If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."

The Eucharist

Anointing of the Sick

Suffering

The role of works in salvation

(James 2:24 RSV) You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.
