I just saw this, I was looking up your posts to find out why you voted for Obama. I ran across this.

Say it aint so Bill

Covenant and Testament are synonymous.

Rlease hisalone do not start lies about me you tell by your self and after you read the post again you can tell me you are sorry

The bible is Gods book to mankind entrusted to the Jews and followed by men of good will worldwide despite their religious affiliation.
Catholics have tried to replace Jews as Gods chosen people—heresy.
Now they want to claim the Jewish book as their own. Pretty petty behavious in my opinion.
Hisalone, This is off thread but I will tell you one time STOP TELLING LIE ABOUT ME.

Catholicism is a model Bible-based church, for the same reason Eastern Orthodoxy is.

Furthermore, the RCC were the ones who trained Martin Luther (even if he was a bit confused in the opinion of Catholics such as I) and the other theolgians who broke away. Except for Jean Calvin, a lawyer (not a theologian by profession).

If you want to assess the Bible-based-ness of Catholicism, just check out (the current) Catechism, full of Biblical quotations if you’re in doubt.

If you don’t agree with the Roman Catholic interpretations, that’s another deal entirely. You’re free to disagree, but it is not ethical to affirm baseless claims. I personally believe mainstream protestants are ok in general, but in their criticisms of the RCC, they sometimes exaggerate IMHO to the degree of sin (9th commandment [Calvinist numbering] or 8th commandment [Catholic and Lutheran numbering]).

No we Catholics havent, you need to read your Bible, and the vision of Saint Peter

I’m sure that Jesus, who was Jewish, did not plan on starting a new religion.
What a peculiar statement coming from a person who once said this:

It seems that people who make statements such as that still claim to “know for sure what Jesus taught”…when it affirms their own agenda. 🤷

No where do I say it is a simple agreement.
Why would you imply I did?
A true blood covenant is more than kinship it is as if two become one.
When I said olden days I was not specifically saying in the OT but in OT times. In Abrahams covenant we see that animals were split in two and both the Lord and Abraham passed through them. Again I am differentiating between the covenant itself and the ceremony or the ritual surrounding the covenant.

The New Covenat is one where God writes His law in our hearts by the indwelling Holy Spirit. It is through this indwelling that all will know Him. It is therefore imperative that teachers teach how one comes to know this Spirit who now is abiding in them.
So, how does Scripture tell us we can determine the Spirit of error from the spirit of Truth?
CC

The New covenant is clearly laid out in scripture:
Amen! And the CC affirms and embraces this New Covenant each and every hour of the day, 365 days of the year, at Mass.

The CC teaches that the New Covenant is the marital relationship between God and His people, in which our sublime consummation of our ONENESS with Christ is made manifest in the Eucharist.

And as far as the CC having the wrong interpretation of any particular verses you cite, that is quite a peculiar comment, coming from a Protestant who believes in individual interpretation of Scripture.

To paraphrase Catholic apologist John Martignoni: if, according to Protestant theology, we have the right to read and interpret the Bible for ourselves and the CC choses to interpret those passages as supporting the Catholic teaching on the New Covenant, how can you, Hisalone, tell us that we’re wrong in our interpretation? That’s the interpretation we get when we read Scripture (not to mention the 2000 years of constant teaching of the Church has “got our back” so to speak.) 🤷

Whatever I chose, do you acknowledge the possibility that you could be wrong in your interpretation?
Im a fallible human being. I am in good company the apostles were fallible human beings.
