I believe the Catholic Church because I believe a man IS God and I listen to His Word and His Church that He left on His Earth.

Do you know that Christs real presence is with you continually? That you can have a relationship with Christ. That the God who made heaven and earth can reside inside you? How awesome is that?

That you can have a relationship with Christ. Why, yes, all of us Catholics can have a relationship with Christ. That is why we are Catholic --universal–Christians --followers of Christ. I don’t know of any Catholic personally that does NOT have a relationship with God --and of course, if for some reason he or she did not, it wouldn’t be BECAUSE they were Catholic, but because they ‘rejected’ Christ DESPITE being Catholic. Surely there are some of your fellow ‘Christians’ who don’t seem to have that ‘relationship’ because they do wrong things? You aren’t telling me that every single Protestant has a ‘relationship’ even if he sins, but somehow every single CATHOLIC doesn’t–even if the Catholic says he DOES? Of course not. That the God who made heaven and earth can reside inside you? How awesome is that? Tremendously! We receive Jesus in the sacrament of the Eucharist, just as John 6 commands us to do, so that we not only receive Him physically, His grace --while we remain conformed to His will and thus, without grave sin–abides in us forever. How wonderful if you would embrace the Catholic Truth and be able to receive Jesus physically too!

So, you believe your teachings, changed by man in a Church started by man, over 1500 years after Pentecost, are the Truth, and reject the original teachings that had been taught and understood by all Christians, written down in the Bible by the people who understood them, and existed up until said man said he believed it meant something else?
No.
If I believed the teaching and practices of the Catholic Church were true then I would be Catholic but since I dont I am not.

If I believed the teachings and practices of the Catholic Church I would be Catholic. My responce to those who question why Im not Catholic is because there are false teaching and doctrine. How do you know my beliefs are infallible? You dont
I dont claim to be infallible only you do and I question that.

this way i continue to follow the Church who claims infallibility.

Christ is the leader of all Christians.
This is true as all Christians religions are derived from the Catholic Church. Those Christian Churches that schismed took parts of the Catholic faith with them. The Catholic Church is complete with the fullness of all Christ’s teachings.

May the peace of the Lord be with you,

No.

This wasn’t answering my question. I asked if you believed the teachings of man from a Church created by man to be the Truth, but rejected the original teachings that were known and understood by all Christians since Pentecost, written down in the Bible by the people who understood the teachings, for over 1500 years until the man you believe in said they mean something else! How could the teachings for over 1500 years suddenly mean something else because Luther and/or his counterparts said so. In the last 500 years, those beliefs have changed into something Luther wouldn’t even recognize.

It has been shown in Scripture over and over again, and explained to the fullest degree, but for those who are entrenced in beliefs of other Churches/men, there is no way you can learn it unless you take your blinders off and open you heart to the possiblity that over 1500 years of teaching couldn’t be in error like Luther said. Only then, when you are open, can the Truth be revealed to you.

We know that your beliefs are fallible because they are different beliefs that were imagined by man in his own interpretation and not what the original teachings or the original understanding by all Christians (especially the first Christians and the Early Church - it IS written down if you want to research exactly what they believed in and why) were until Luther and his buddies made changes to say it meant something else. Research every single change that Luther made, and his justifications for said changes. It is all recorded for you, all you have to do is to do is research it and quit believing every single word you preacher teaches you it means. You won’t be able to disprove not ONE Catholic teaching. You will however, be able to disprove Luther and the other Reformers justifications and rationalizations for the making the changes. Any Church that is not the original Church - Christ’s Church - is not teaching Christ’s teachings as he gave it to Peter and the Apostles and they taught for all nations. If it has changed from what THEY said it meant, then it IS NOT Christ’s Deposit of Faith, but some man’s, preachers interpretation of what it means.

No actually it is the word of God.

1 Peter1:23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises **of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; **

We are called by God out of darkness by His word.
We are the called out ones.
Ekklessia means called out ones. Not what you have distorted and called church!
Neither of these verses say we are saved by God’s word. If that were true, anyone who hears the Gospel would be saved, which we know is untrue (eg. the parable of the sower, Matt. 13:3-9). In contrast, St. Paul tells us we are saved by grace. “For by grace you have been saved through faith …” Eph 2:8. God’s word tells us how to receive grace, but mere exposure to God’s word doesn’t bestow grace on us.

yep. together with the man who fell sleep during St Paul’s speech.
😛

Once when my wife and I were doing our nightly Bible reading, I was reading that passage from Acts, and my wife did fall asleep. To make matters worse, my name is Paul, too.

Christ Alone is sufficent for salvation. “Another gospel” teaches that He is not suffiecent but it is the Church which is athe saving agent.
How could I follow something so foolish to believe man is greater than God?
“Salvation comes from God alone …” Catechism of the Catholic Church 169.

Do you know that Christs real presence is with you continually?
How so? Are you referring to being in a state of grace? Or are you referring to something else?
That you can have a relationship with Christ.
Well, yeah, that is the entire point of the Catholic faith. But, I’m confused. Why would you assume that a Catholic lacks a relationship with Christ? Do you assume that your relationship with Christ is somehow stronger than ours? Why?
That the God who made heaven and earth can reside inside you? How awesome is that?
Amen! Praise Jesus! He does reside in us Catholics. He comes into our very being in the Eucharist. No more intimate, loving union with our God here on Earth could ever be imagined.
