Jesus never ever set Peter as pope. I can conceed that Peter was a leader of the apostles which is a far cry from pope. Pope is a made office. It is an office which has cased much disunity in Christs Church.

Actually, the disunity comes from those who refuse to accept the legitimate authority of the Church. That is like blaming Moses for Israel’s worship of the golden calf.

That an interesting assertion Hisalone - the irony is that if you study the history of Christianity and the writings of the early church fathers - you will find that the doctrines they professed are the Catholic doctrines - it is sola scriptera and faith alone which would be foreign to any of the earliest Christians. If you don’t believe me, do your own study. I did, as a Protestant, and was surprised by what I found

Yes they are Cathloic Christian just like today and have been for over 2000 years. They are not Baptism Christiams or SDA Christiams.

You are missing a major part of the Bibles theology. The Jews were a religion based upon bloodline. This was to separate pagans from Gods people and to create a lineage worthy of Christ. (The perfect Mary.) With Christ, God’s people extended beyond bloodline to all people. Jews were the first Catholic’s as they are the seed for Cathlocism. Catholic’s would not exist without Jews. With that said Jews would not be reunited to Christ in the second coming without Catholic’s (God) converting Jews.

Note this can not be refuted. In Revelation the Jews are converted to Cathlocism in great numbers prior to Christ’s second coming. (Protestant’s can claim that they are converted to Christianity - it is not true. That is not the point of this post though.) If Jews were still not part of Christ’s plan why do they continue to be persecuted. Hitler killed 6 million in WWII. Why would Satan do this if they are unimportant? He did this to attempt to hold back the second coming. Just as he killed all the new borns when Christ was born. To separate Catholic’s and Jews in God’s plan is silly. Jews are separated as God has planned. Christ first followers were Jews that became Catholic.

This is a perfect example of how Protestants do not understand the basics of the Bible. (No offense intended.) Satan nevers refutes truth. He sells a half truth and twists the rest. Anyone that refutes the Bible as being Catholic does not understand the Bible. They refute history and the writings of the Apostles in the Didache.

Sad that so many Protestant place pride above humility. The humility to read and understand. So many place themselves at the center of the universe. They believe that God speaks to them and they are knowing. The Bible refutes this in so many stories. Yet they continue to place pride in the way of humble learning.

I was a staunch Protestant for 30 years. It wasn’t until I stumbled upon a book that showed how Cathlocism was the truth. I debated many Catholics in error as I did not understand the Bible. i didn’t mean to imply that what you say here is not true. I was, when i wrote my post, htinking of those who know or at least sense that Catholicism is true and yet ignore it… keep arguing even when they realize they are arguing against truth…

I agree and I understood your point. Your point was a bit different then mine. I didn’t mean to refute your point as it was a valid point. I was just attempting to elaborate on humility and placing God before human thought.

It is sad that so many vote as they wish, preach as they wish etc. I am shocked on Sunday mornings watching preachers spew out their own religious logic and not Gods. I am sure most are very well meaning. Satan the angel of light is very good at using man’s pride to confuse man.

Friend you’re understanding is not supported bu wither history or simple logic.

There was only one Christian Church until about the year 1,000. That Church by the begaining of the Forth Century was know as it is today, as the Catholic Church.

In fact the term Catholic was first used by a Bishop in the early Second Century.

And you’re wrong about not recogonizing today’s Catholic Church. Our Mass today is very much like in was around the year 150 AD. All Seven sacraments are still pracriced, the Primacy of Peter is still in effect, and a great many our our current Doctrines and Dogma’s can be traced back to the Apostles themselves.

The Apostles Creed, a sumary of Catholic Beliefs written by the Apostles is still recited today.

It is my friend, uncharitable and unwise to attempt to tp Pontificate on a topic on which to seem to know so little.

It means that those who followed Jesus were part of a movement within Judaism. The first Christians did not see themselves as separate from Judaism, most were Jewish Christians. Later on when Christians were mostly gentiles then the Christian religion became more distinct and separate from Judaism.

Non Jews could become Jews by being circumcised.
