Why the Tower of Babel (Babylon) was Built

Ran across a quote attributed to St. Augustine to the effect that the tower was built to protect the population from a flood, such as destroyed mankind in Noah’s time.

If such a flood were to come again, at least a few might survive.
 
according to the word, it was created to reach god, and for their vanity was torn down, although a flood like in the old testament will never happen again by gods word, you must remember that such huge things are possible…remember…pyramids, still standing today and built thousands of years ago by jewish and other slaves. 🙂

Nope, the Pyramids of Giza weren’t built by the Israelites (it was built long before the time period people consider the Exodus to have most likely happened), or by slaves for that matter.

that is what I was thinking of, still Jewish…aaaaa you got me, walk in the the barren wastes…commandments, Jewish faith…bla 👍 dang it’s been a while since I trapped myself in something i knew 😛
