(I am concerned on this issue as a Sri lankan!)

Another adventure of Trump administration?
@Ransri. Be assured that most Americans are outraged by Trump’s mindless actions regarding immigrant families at the U.S. - Mexican border.

So what country, in the same time period of your examples, was a better country than the US?

The US government is demonstrably more merciful and kind than the governments of the countries these people are fleeing.
Jan, don’t feed the troll? Let it go.

We’re probably the most merciful government in the world.
I don’t how it was merciful to drop two atomic bombs resulting in the murder of thousands of innocent children. Also I don’t see how it was merciful to round up Americans of japanese descent and put them in internment camps. And was it merciful for the government to go along with the enslavement of thousands of young women from Africa?
Eh?
  1. “drop two atomic bombs resulting in the murder of thousands of innocent children”…Democrats
  2. “round up Americans of japanese descent and put them in internment camps”…Democrats
  3. “enslavement of thousands of young women from Africa”… Democrats
Add to those:
  1. Jackson’s Indian Removal Act… Democrats
  2. U.S. Immigration Act of 1924 to establish immigration quotas based on race, and preferential treatment to whites while discriminating against darker skinned people who wanted to come to America… Democrats
  3. “a whole network of segregation laws which separated whites and blacks—separate schools, separate hotel accommodations, separate drinking fountains…” Democrats
  4. “…anti-miscegenation and Jim Crow laws…” Democrats
  5. Formation and political support of the KKK as the terrorist arm of the Democratic Party… Democrats
  6. Democrat Roger Taney, chief justice of the Supreme Court, in his notorious Dred Scott decision, infamously stated that blacks “have no rights which the white man was bound to respect.” Democrats
  7. Republicans got the civil rights movement going and were instrumental in getting supporting laws passed. Opposition to these came almost entirely from the Democratic Party. Yet, Democrats today boldly take credit for the civil rights movement. Democrats
Take almost any low water mark in American history and research the topic. Almost without fail the Democratic Party was at the forefront of it.

The only way your take on history works is if you completely ignore all the positive things that American governments have done and focus entirely on the negative. Truth be known, if you pursue the topic beyond a shallow, “commonly believed,” depth you will see where the political ills had their origins.

This is nothing new in American policy and public opinion.
Note that the Democrats were the party in power at the time, and Democrat policies from previous decades inspired the barbaric anti-Semitic laws that resulted in Germany. It was Democrat policies on slavery and the internment of aboriginal peoples that were referenced as the bases of laws targeting Jews in Germany.

When they were attempting to define who to count as a Jew under the law, for example, the suggestion came up to copy the Southern segregation laws based upon the “one drop rule.” According to those laws, instituted by Southern Democrats, having any black ancestry at all, even a single drop of black blood would get you counted as black. The Nazi’s rejected that level of racism as "simply too inhumane.”

Not to mention our unwanted crusades of “democracy” in Vietnam, the Philippines, and Nicaragua.

I’m surprised given all the harsh criticism of this country by some posters, they still even live here in the USA.

@Ransri,

That question’s like asking someone “Have you stopped beating your wife?” You’re already assuming that the other party’s guilty before even knowing what the situation really is. Don’t do that.

You should also know that the UN has agendas that are against the best interests of the United States as a sovereign nation, so you shouldn’t always take them at their word. If I wanted to know more about you, who’d be a better person to ask: you yourself, or someone who secretly hates you? Check other sources too.

As of this time Gen. Mattis has stated that he’s working on securing temporary housing for illegal immigrant families while they’re being processed, so you can rest easy. If that’s not being merciful, I don’t know what is.

Hoo boy, here we go again. The old “Americans have always been secret Nazis who want to gas 6 million Jews” smear.

Anything else you want to get off your chest before we move on?

People really need to research about these things, because the media is just controlling the masses. Like the other day I researched about catholic American history, and it actually made a whole lot of sense to a lot of things that happened.

Agreed.

I like your Vault-Boy avatar too.

Thanks I actually made this for my final in Photoshop like 2 years ago. I also like your templar icon, they’re the reason why my family survived.

Nice find! I don’t see it as a Republican/Democrat/America is bad kind of thing, it’s just something that we’ve gone through before and it’s part of our history. If we don’t learn from history we are bound to repeat the same mistakes so let’s do things better this go around. It’s a new opportunity that God has provided to heal our nation.

Thanks.
None of this would be going on if our laws were followed.
Yes, listen…the United States has LAWS that some have followed, some have not.
You need to come into the USA LEGALLY.
Unfortunately, past presidents have not enforced our laws. They got lax. This is what happens. Now another president has to clean up someone else mess.
I’d like to see some Mexicans who came in LEGALLY stand up and say they followed the laws, others have to also.

I think the keyword was “are”. I didn’t see the word “were” anywhere in that sentence.

I believe the point JanSobieskilll was trying to make was that if you try to cross over from US to Mexico illegally, you face 2-10 years in prison. Not quite the same as what happens when you cross illegally from Mexico to US.

Pres. Obama did NOT separate children from their parents. Press. Obama’s plan worked very well , unlike Donald’s plan that is NOT working well at all. He has most of the world crying foul for his actions.
I’m sorry, but this is not true. Obama did separate children from their parents. The ACLU and a Democratic member of Congress both talked about this in 2014.

What Obama did when he wanted to stop the separation of children (if that was really the reason) was “Catch and Release.” The “Catch and Release” program didn’t work because most people would not return.

The only way “Catch and Release” will work is if we buy thousands of ankle monitors. Which was suggested on Twitter by a democrat.

God bless
