Is Gabriel telling her something that had already occurred, or something which would occur in the future? Gabriel is talking about something which would occur in the future, not what had been done. Mary would naturally think this would happen after her marriage, where in Scripture does it say it would happen prior to the marriage? Logic tells you, the angel is referring to after the marriage, how else could it be?Hi This passage clearly is saying that when Mary is told that she would give birth to a child, she did not understand because she had not known, or had sex with any man.
No, it implies that they had not had sex, so that we know the child is the Son of God, and no way the son of Joseph. It does not imply that it had happened after.Matt 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost.
The key sentence here is “before they had came together” meaning before they had sexual relations.
Thanks, In Him and Only Him.
