Why was the Christ not named Emmanuel?

Isaiah prophesized that:

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel.”

Why, then, were Mary and Joseph instructed to name their son ‘Jesus’?
