Dear Apologists,
I was meditating on the last supper and had a shocking realization, how is it that the Apostles were able to come into full communion with God through the eucharist before the Crucifixion of Christ? It seems to me that God being perfectly just would not enter into communion with any men before the ultimate price had been paid for the sins of humanity.
And not to mention that since the last supper was a passover meal that ended with the crucifixion, with Christ becoming the lamb, how could the apostles eat of the lamb (as was stipulated in the first passover) before Christ even became the lamb?
It just seems very odd that this didnt happen after rather than before.
Can somebody help me to understand?
Sincerely,
Joe
