Why We Should Promote And Use Latin

Seriously, how many here have the time to become proficient in Latin? It takes work and many years.
Well, there are only 600 some unique vocabulary words and maybe a little grammar to learn to follow the entire TLM minus the propers. A year’s worth of EFs every Sunday and you’ll get it. What’s with all this proficiency stuff? Were all those who followed the Latin Mass since the early centuries Latin scholars?

And that’s assuming you want to participate in saying the responses which isn’t exactly required, especially if there’s a schola present. “Active participation” doesn’t have to mean (and was never intended primarily to mean) external noisiness and frenetic activity but an active interiority of participation, i.e., contemplation and adoration.
