Ditto. The fear seems to be coming from you.
Still irrelevant to my post which I had given in reply to him.And I was responding to you. You have a knack for calling things absurd and being condescending when folks mention truths you can’t defend…like the plethora of versions of the First Vision. The LDS Church just picked the one they liked best…
As you should know, Mormonism teaches that many “plain and precious” passages were remove from the NT scriptures. One purpose of the Restoration has been to restore some of those lost doctrines. So the Restoration means more than just making everything look more like the Bible.ah…so you can’t show me in the Bible the things I asked you to show me. I accept your resignation.
another dodge…Sorry, can’t reply to your post when you wrap it all under one quote, which makes it impossible to give it a point by point reply. Try again.
Not at all. I make points, you run and/or make excuses. Please…we expect honesty here.Ditto. The fear seems to be coming from you.
Nope. You said the Book contained the account of the first vision. I corrected you. RelevantStill irrelevant to my post which I had given in reply to him.
Again, if it was a restoration, if would restore things that existed. You cannot show they existed. Ever. So, it is not a restoration. I am grateful to you proving my point. As you should know, Mormonism teaches that many “plain and precious” passages were remove from the NT scriptures. Okay; so JS–H doesn’t contain an account of the First Vision. I get it. Learn something new every day.Nope. You said the Book contained the account of the first vision. I corrected you. Relevant
It is a restoration of that which was lost, as well as fixing what had gone wrong.Again, if it was a restoration, if would restore things that existed. You cannot show they existed. Ever. So, it is not a restoration. I am grateful to you proving my point.
next?
unfortunately you consume poison by following a false doctrineThat is a strange one. So you reckon we should wilfully drink poison, knowing that it is poison, and then trust God that he will save us? Never heard of that before. Where did you get that idea from?
LOL! As they say, “One man’s meat is another man’s poison.”unfortunately you consume poison by following a false doctrine
It would truly help if you would actually read my post. I never said it did not contain an account of the alleged first vision. I said it contained only 1 of the many versions of the alleged first visionOkay; so JS–H doesn’t contain an account of the First Vision. I get it. Learn something new every day.
If it never existed, it was never lost. And if ZERO writers of all the writers of the Books of the Bible never ever mentioned it, it either never existed, or was not very important. Hence, no restorationIt is a restoration of that which was lost, as well as fixing what had gone wrong.
who says that? Please give the quote and the attributionLOL! As they say, “One man’s meat is another man’s poison.”
Since you have provided no context I see no reason to accept your assertion. If you examine more carefully how the term “professors of religion” is used in the context of JS–H, it becomes clear that it refers to the priests, ministers, preachers, and activists of the respective religions, not the mere adherents.
Well, I never said it contained the only account of the First Vision. I said it contains “an account of the First Vision” (link). So what are you arguing against? It would truly help if you would actually read my post. I never said it did not contain an account of the alleged first vision. I said it contained only 1 of the many versions of the alleged first vision
Wrong. Mormonism presupposes an Apostasy, which you exclude from the equation. If it never existed, it was never lost. And if ZERO writers of all the writers of the Books of the Bible never ever mentioned it, it either never existed, or was not very important. Hence, no restoration
That is a well known English proverb. Google for it to find out.who says that? Please give the quote and the attribution
It has been demonstrated that mormonisms presupposition of an apostasy is wrong. It is simply based on scripture that Christ himself said he would never leave his Church.Wrong. Mormonism presupposes an Apostasy, which you exclude from the equation.
Don’t you hate it when you can’t drive, or manipulate the conversation because the facts get in your way?No, you have failed,
as long as we agree that he had many versions of an alleged first vision and that most were very different, we have no argument at all.Well, I never said it contained the only account of the First Vision. I said it contains “an account of the First Vision” (link). So what are you arguing against?
