most standard dishware and silver is dishwasher safe and actually intended to be cleaned this way, and sanitized
- It’s hard on the dishes and shortens the life of glassware.
2. It takes extra water and electricity.
the way most people wash dishes, DW uses less water, and since many models heat water, takes less energy than heating the water wasted by hand washing and rising.
your dishes will be cleaner and more sanitary with less water use.
- It takes special detergents that cost money.
only a bit more than standard dish liquid use only the amount specified on the box, most people use way too much- You’ve still gotta rinse the dishes so is it really saving time?
according to maytag repairman you should not rinse the dishes, just scrape off garbage, bones, peels etc.
the machines and detergents are intended to work on the grease and food debris, and if they don’t have it, the machine is less efficient.- If the cycle isn’t started or is in the middle somewhere, having to dig through the muck to get a plate in a pinch is kinda gross.
If the DW is running properly this is not a problem. learn how to load it properly and do so- If we forget to run it, we have no dishes ready when we need them.
what happens when dishes stack in the sink and somebody forgets to wash them?
load the DW after dinner, including dishes used for snacks, and run it before bed, or set on timer to run in the middle of the night, to lower energy cost, even if it is not packed full
whoa clean dishes every morning.
