Why would the Orthodox want full communion?

They have all the valid sacraments and they follow most of what Catholicism agrees with. Why would the Orthodox give up their religion to be in communion with Rome?

I know Catholics have an obligation to convert all. No offense, I know Protestants are taught heresy, so we should save them as best we can. Orthodox really do not have that problem.

What are they heretical about? I know their version of Papal Supremacy is off from Catholic teaching and so Papal infallibility would be off the table. Everything else is petty like the filioque and purgatory issue.

And reunification is the pastoral thing to do.

You can’t be the big daddy if your not pastoral.

Catholics no longer seek to convert Orthodox and Jews. The Catholic Church also helps fund the Orthodox re-evangelization of Russia. I heard this on “Light of the East”, a radio show about Eastern Catholicism.

Is that because the Orthodox may come into full communion and Jewish people already choose to not believe?

I’m not persuaded the Orthodox do want full communion. They don’t recognize Catholic sacraments as valid; any of them. They consider the Catholic Church heretical in more ways than you can count. They don’t think it should allow itself to be worldwide.

They don’t consider themselves to be in communion with the Catholic Church in any way at all, let alone “full” communion. It’s not a matter of them feeling they are already in full communion.
