Hmmmm. The exact reason a JW might give when asked why he didn’t want to be a Catholic.
I kinda thought it was a pretty good reason. It does get to the root of all differences. 🙂 There is a logical way to determine who has truth within the Christian faith. 👍

Peace!!!

The last JW I spoke with was over the phone, and I came right back at him that he should become a Catholic. He laughed and said he had quit the Catholic church but did not explain why. He left the Church in his mid 60’s as far as I can tell.

There are a lot of problems in the Catholic Church, even locally. We’ve been betrayed in various ways by our local priests and bishops. It is very discouraging. Pope Francis said, I seem to recall, that he wanted to change the organization of the church down to the parish level. There is too much inertia to make everyone feel included – like me.

But, I remain a Catholic because I believe it is the one true church of Jesus Christ. I can barely tolerate the misconduct during the Mass (talking, etc. priest’s jokes) and in church, in the presence of the Eucharist. My trust is in the Lord.

JW is based on what the Catholic Church calls special revelation, to some guy a century or two ago. I’m not keen on people converting their private revelation into general revelation. Where is that even in the JW Bible?
