Conspicuously absent from the article: “WKRP in Cincinnati.” The version they show on Me-TV (or Antenna-TV) doesn’t feature the original soundtrack, reportedly due to music licensing issues.

We’re lucky to have The Cosby Show for streaming at Amazon Video. We liked it so much that we had to watch the 8 seasons. Too bad there was no All in the Family…

Thanks for posting that link. It is easy to overlook the difficulties involved in bringing an old TV series into the digital marketplace.

This is not a dig at the person who started the thread, or anyone on CAF, just a general observation: I’m just old enough to remember when the invention of the VCR made such a dramatic change in people’s TV viewing habits. I can still remember what a thrill it was, to be able to watch an old classic movie any time you wanted, instead of just hoping it would somebody have a rerun on TV.

I can’t fathom the mentality of people who complain that some show isn’t available for streaming. Most stuff is available from Netflix or other rental services on DVD. And if you really love the show, you can always buy the DVD and have your own copy to keep.

There are enough real problems in life, without people conjuring up new things to complain about.

I’ve been very pleasantly surprised at all that is available to borrow from the library, too. No cost as long as I remember to return it on time. 😉

The Cosby Show is currently available for streaming via Amazon Video? Considering that the Cos is awaiting trial on sexual-assault charges
Have to assume innocence until proven guilty, besides that, just because an actor gets into hot water in their personal life, usually that does not effect the availability or airing of re-runs, especially a show as popular as the Cosby show.

Both of our large public libraries still have every season on the shelves, and they seem to be more popular than ever.

Um, is either Baretta or 7th Heaven being run anywhere at the present time? Each show had a star who has had to deal with reputation-ruining controversy. To understand what I’m getting at, check out the beginning of this video.

7th Heaven is on Hulu.

7th heaven is on all the time on cable, I believe its ‘the family channel’ or something like that, its a small christian network, they air a lot of older shows, like touched by an angel, 7th heaven, that one with michael landon as an angel (cant think of name of show.)

Highway to Heaven?

I feel like at some point some non-profit for the archiving of TV history will eventually arise to make sure that not a single episode of a TV show that has ever been aired is lost to history. 😛

Such as the Museum of Television and Radio in Queens?

“The younger subscribers [Netflix] cares about just aren’t as likely to watch an older show, where the scenes are longer and the jokes take longer to set up,” our studio exec explains. “
Shorter attention spans.

Who’s the boss (ABC show from 1980s) is not available anywhere to watch…not amazon or iTunes or hulu or Netflix) No, it’s not a classic…but I watched it as an 80s kid…it’s not on DVD either.
