You mean Catholic evolutionists are ashamed of Catholics that believe God created man?
Oh (I hope you’re still reading this, Bradskii!), I missed out the tactic of taking a Catholic Evolutionist post and immediately rewriting it to mean something that it quite obviously doesn’t.

What on Earth does that mean?
My post to Bradskii clearly says that I am ashamed of the ruses Creationists use to defend their beliefs, not, as you immediately misinterpreted, that I am ashamed of them having those beliefs. I have several times said that I have a certain respect for literalist Creationists, provided they stick by their guns, do not meddle in things they don’t understand, do not resort to immoral means to express themselves, and do not themselves ‘interpret’ the literal words of the bible other than literally.

I understand.

I believe God created the world and man the way it is written in Genesis. I don’t believe in evolution.

The problem is a Catholic who believes in evolution where bacteria turns into fish and through many other steps until it reaches humanity as we know it today.

I don’t find that a problem. I would find it a problem if I came across an Evolutionist who defended his views dishonestly. Luckily, this rarely happens, as the most severe critics of Evolutionists are other Evolutionists. A book by Jerry Bergman recently referenced by Buffalo illustrates this very well.

Don’t pass the buck. You dragged this ghastly tome onto the stage, so presumably you’ve read it? Oh…
There are many here who would benefit from the frauds of evolution. They can read and judge for themselves.

Catechism:

355 "God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them."218 Man occupies a unique place in creation: (I) he is “in the image of God”; (II) in his own nature he unites the spiritual and material worlds; (III) he is created “male and female”; (IV) God established him in his friendship.

356 Of all visible creatures only man is “able to know and love his creator”.219 He is “the only creature on earth that God has willed for its own sake”,220 and he alone is called to share, by knowledge and love, in God’s own life. It was for this end that he was created, and this is the fundamental reason for his dignity:

Are you serious? No they are not and there is a crisis in science, peer review and funding that reinforces current paradigms and discourages work that would threaten it. If it makes if past all this then the journals won’t publish.

Do you support funding more research of intelligent design?

If a proponent of intelligent design came up with a research program that made some kind of scientific sense, then yes, I would. What sort of thing would you propose?

Oh do keep up, Nelka, there’s a dear. We’ve been batting bits of the Catechism back and forth for days. The Catechism in no way forbids my belief in evolution, in this respect.

God created man not as bacteria through evolution though.
It’s quite OK for you to believe that, whether it’s right or wrong. And it’s quite OK for me to believe the opposite, whether it’s right or wrong.

As it happens, I’m right.
