The Church doesn’t make any condemnation against those who, through no fault of their own, follow other religions, if you’ve noticed. Yet there is only one truth. The Church does call men towards that truth found in her.So you think it’s perfectly fine for someone to follow a false religion? (Remember - there is only ONE Truth.)

I may point out that truth , in my opinion, is not staionery or static rather it is moving or dynamic; yet it remains truth. So one has to make a continuous research for truth and has to be humble or one must have humility enough to accept it , otherwise one is at risk. One may believe a truth, which was a truth at sometimes in the past but later the truth has moved from that position, so one may find that he is no more on the truth.
It is for this that truth has been stated to be a path rather than a point on the path.
I think 2000 years ago, humans believed that sun moves around the earth , so that could be considered right at that point of time, now it has been proved that it is earth which moves around the sun. On cannot afford to be rigid enough not to believe the later position.
Similarly, Abraham was a truthful ProphetMessenger of GodAllahYHWH and one believes it is a truth. Then comes Moses, the same person does not accept Moses to be true ProphetMessenger of GodAllahYHWH. So by this action he loses belief in Abraham as well and also of belief in God as he has not believed Moses who is from the same source.
I think I have presented my view point reasonably.

paarsurrey, you may point this out all you like, but you will be wrong each and every time you say this. The TRUTH is the TRUTH, regardless of what you or others ‘believe’ it is. It does not change. It is not “dynamic.” It is always the TRUTH. That men once believed the world was flat, did not make it the TRUTH.
I agree with lizaanne, there is only ONE truth. And there is only ONE True Faith and One True Church. We all know that it is the Church which Christ Himself left behind, and NO OTHER. For a person to leave the TRUTH for another “truth”, is to embrace un-truths.
Mike, please consider reading the 2 books written by Father Gabriele Amorth, the chief exorcist of the Vatican (An Exorcist Tells His Story and More Stories…) From what I have read, this witch business is nothing to play around with, and could have devastating effects on one’s mental, physical and spiritual life for years and years to come, even after it is turned away from.
I will add you and your wife to the list of people I pray for every day.

I will pray for your wife, that she may find her way back to the Catholic Church and God (the only God).
Being a former Wiccan/Pagan myself, I am no stranger in hearing stories like hers (and yours). I am not trying to be discouraging to you and I hope you find much strength through Jesus and prayer, but I still want to give an honest history of my life in the Wiccan world. I was pulled into it by all of the “positive” websites saying, “Oh, Wicca is sooooooooo beautiful - it’s all about Nature and love and peace…etc., etc.” As soon as I started meeting other Wiccans, I soon realized that it was anything but roses and fluff. The Wiccans I’ve met were angry people who only wanted to be around people who thought exactly as they did and did not have open minds about anything. The women were of major importance, while their men were baby tools who were supposed to be quiet and mind their manners.
After my own marriage almost coming to a divorce because of Wicca, I then delved into some Eastern philosophies/religions to the likes of Hinduism. One Christmas season I was surfing the web to see how different countries celebrate Christmas, and I suddenly heard a voice in my head and felt it in my heart to go to Mass again for Christmas.
That was one year ago; since then, I’ve enrolled in the RCIA program, we got convalidated in the Catholic Church yesterday (I’ll have to post pics on here), am the Social Chairperson for the Women’s Guild of St. Brigid, am a member of the Cenacle Rosary group, etc. My moral to my long-winded post is that God called me back to the Church to be with Him. I believe that I was put on the alternate paths to see for myself that they were not the right way to go and that God is truly the answer.
Anyway…I hope I’m not being too preachy, which is not my intention. I just want to let you know that I’m praying for your wife and for you as well. It took me over 7 years to hear God’s calling. May your wife hear the same.

I have a friend who is barely a practicing Catholic. He says all the things you mention in your posts.
The relativism coming through your posts reminds me of him so much it’s kind of sad.
I say this has nothing to do with religion at all, but rather a deep fear or hurt she has that she is not telling you about or that you already know about, but are not paying attention to.
When someone is deeply hurt or very afraid (as in afraid to literally live) they fall into a surrealistic, wishy washy way of life, where nothing matters, there is no truth, you can all do what you please, etc. It’s not a cop out so much as a way to numb herself from something.
You can do the whole debate thing. You can try to spend time with her learning about Wicca. But I bet you ten dollars if you tune in to her daily life she has this attitude about everything, no?

Please keep her loving much more than before and praying for her. Please don’t force her to your brand of Christianity, if there is more truth on your side, someday she would come back.Keep comparing Wiccan with your own faith within yourself and find reasonable and rational arguments which should be presented by you to her Wiccan friends, that could solve the problem. Try converting her Wiccan friends to your faith, that would be a positive and good approach.

Our one-year-old baby is not blind at all though. also this is my wife’s personal beliefs, she’s not in the business of forceing her religion on anyone. Also to forestall questions about how we use the computr. We use screen readers such as NVDA and Jaws and Window-Eyes.

One of my friends growing up had 2 deaf parents - they used a tty machine and the house was wired with light bulbs - were there is a will there is a way - Audio is available and if you contact your local parish - I am sure they would be more than willing to accomodate you.Hi,

I wonder how the original poster of this thread is doing.
I was involved with Wicca and Druidism for about 4 years. During that time, roughly 5% of the people I met were healthy minded, good people who had found a deep spirituality and a fulfilling faith. About 70% were mentally or emotionally damaged people looking for an emotional crutch to lean on or craving something to fill a hole left by bad relationships and disappointing life experiences. The remaining 25% were charlatans and predators who were just waiting to prey upon the 70% of weak-minded victims. They would set themselves up as leaders of covens and spiritual guides and groom their victims into acts of depravity in the name of the Goddess and the Horned God (fleecing as much money along the way as possible). Of course, that might just be the crowd local to me. Admittedly, the Druids did seem to be a much more moral bunch and better organised, probably because Druidism attracts less women and therefore, fewer sexual predators.
The ‘idea’ of a nature based religion is very beautiful but quite often the reality is a whole different story. For the most part, Pagans tend to be obsessed with the idea of being oppressed (especially by Christians). They moan about it all the time. What the Christians did to the Druids, what the Christians did to the Muslims. I feel I am justified in making these observations having walked a mile in their sandals.
In the end, I came out of it in debt and with more emotional damage than I’d gone into it.
Having said that, there are reasons why idea of Paganism is more attractive to women.
In Wicca, the woman is empowered, central to the universe, equal, she can gain knowledge and even gets to take part in secret rituals.
In Catholicism, she was born with the stain of original sin, she will never, ever get a sniff of the seat of power or any of the knowledge that comes with it. She can’t even be a Knight of Columbus because once again, that’s only for men. Because of her gender she will always come in second place with her Confessor, her Pope and her God. That’s actually a bit demoralising.
If your loved one is getting into Wicca, my advice would be:-
Keep an eye on who her friends are and where her money is going.
Give some thought to what she might have felt was missing from her life and try to help her work through that. i.e. If she’s the mother of a child who has grown up and moved away or wants a child, that would explain a preoccupation with a search for the ‘Mother Within’.
Keep in mind that she wants her beliefs to be respected just like you do.
Go on nature walks with her.
Start an organic garden or allotment with her. It’s nature based and time consuming.
